Yeah, partial to it when I can't get Glenmorangie. Standard/Caskmates/Black Barrel would be my favourites. For some reason, the aged Jameson I don't like as much as the standard.
JD, Jim Beam and others have been known to pass my lips on occasion also |

not a big whisky drinker, but when I indulge much prefer irish over scotish.
Quite partial to a Crested 10 or a Redbreast (I know I know I know .....we all are).
Don't forget we taffs have got Penderyn. |

This thread is annoying me!
I've been drinking red wine all day and this thread is giving me a yearning for a wee dram but I never drink whiskey after wine as it would not be worth it in the morning
I'll just have to have a few dirty black pints instead |

"Not a bad whiskey, but nothing beats the old Cardhu special reserve. Single malt is just another level"
Glenmorangie my favourite and it's also one that gets better with age. The 18yr old is amazing! Not in a Fab way |

Yes definitely another favourite of mine, it was my drink of choice for Christmas day. Glenfiddich is another great choice. Always hard to pick between the two.

I've mentioned a Scottish single malt named Aberlour a few times. Maybe this is the thread for it.
The 12 year old that's aged 6 years in an oak cask, then 6 in a Spanish sherry oak cask is a wee bit yummy!
There's a new one that's aged in the sherry cask for the entire 12 years.... It's amaze balls!!
Jameson is nice enough by the by. |

If you appreciate single malt, it's amazing!
Have to warn, it's a sipping scenario, whereby one Irish double measure lasts at least an hour.
Appreciate that I'm guessing the measurement, as I just pour |

"Hankey Bannister sugar crushed frozen aqua & lime. If your brave..
Use a straw!"
Tried the Hanley straight and it was okay, not amazing. Haven't a clue what frozen aqua was until I thought, you wanker! That's just ice |

One of the smoothest scotish single malts I have encountered is Glenlossie..
I gather the whiskey experts are aware of the teardrop effect on your whisky...
A single drop (literally a teardrop) replemishes the whiskey of what has naturally evaporated ("The Angel's share). Use either a peppette (think that's correct name ?) or a straw , sucking up water from a glass , covering the top with your thumb, then release a drop.
If you've not done it before try it you'll see a big difference with a before and after sip. |
