"If I was single and under 35 I would avoid them
At my age and if I was divorced, yes no problem "
I'd agree with this statement. I'm 41 with children I've just started to see a man who also has children. I think it's inevitable |

"If I were childfree myself,no way would I get involved with someone who already had kids. Why invite unnecessary hassle into your life" now if I made that comment to women with kids I'd be lambasted lol

I've also known women who put their new relationship before their children. |

I've a child and I've ended relationships because I've always put her first and a lot of women didn't like that.
But after 30 if you are single it's nearly inevitable that you'll meet people with children |

Well in our case she put the children first.as in their happiness. Wouldn't have introduced a partner that she didn't think would get on with kids and treat them good. But it has worked out brilliantly.. We all get in just great and its happy days. We even take the urine out of her ex with great merriment. Lol . |

It wouldn't bother me. I had a serious relationship with a man who has as many kids as me. We were like the Brady bunch
But children always come first, and it's easier for another parent to understand that than it is for someone who's never had a child. |

Maybe taking the piss out of a biological parent is not the best way to develop positive relationships with children, but hey, who knows anyone else's personal circumstances |

It's not something I've ever given much thought to. When you have children, you get used to things changing with no advance warning, so it's not like it's a new thing. I would imagine, in your case, that gaa, either coaching or training or playing comes before most social things. Maybe I'm wrong, it's just a feel I get from things you write. So we all have things that take precedence over a new relationship, and we just work around them accordingly, no? |

Well firstly regarding taking the urine out of him.. He was a nasty man towards both their mother and them. Treated them all badly. The antics of him were funny in a way. But they laugh about it all now whfn we chat about it. It hasn't affected our relationship since I have been introduced to her kids.quiet the opposite. We all get on great and its a laugh a minute with us all. Admittedly it may not work out this good for other couples but it has for us. So happy days |

That's exactly what I mean, whether it's children, gaa or even dogs, we all have priorities. It's not fair to single out children as an 'obstruction' to a relationship. |

For me it would depend on the dad of the kids, and the kid.
If he was a local guy who was fairly honest and standup, and him and the mum had made an honest go of it and it didnt work, and he played a role in the kids life but was fine with another guy looking out for his kid, then I wouldnt mind.
If he was a big mistake, a one night stand, someone with a devout religion, someone with a culture different to mine, someone who would argue with me over what was right or wrong, then I wouldn't be interested at all.
I'm not having someone drop in at christmas and ask why I am celebrating it, or telling me that their kid should do x,y,z, or dropping in d*unk and argumentative, or any of that.
Saying that, I have dated multiple women who had kids. Pretty hard to find women who dont have kids. |

Im a single dad of 3 kids and have them every Saturday and then every second weekend from Friday to Sunday night . I've dated women with and without kids not been judgemental but I've found women with kids are more understanding when it comes to putting the kids first and not been able to go out every weekend |

I prefer a guy with no kids, but then again how do you know if their lying or not. Eventually you find out, but that could be after u know him well enough.he could just say that he had no kids just too get his leg over. It's a no win situation anyway u look at it |

I've 4 kids and Niall has 4 kids. Neither of us had any problems about it when we met. I think it was easier in the respect that both of us understood that the kids always come 1st.
Unlike my kids' dad who uses our kids as a 'sob story' when trying his case with women. Telling them I won't allow him to see them. When the truth is he doesn't give a flying f**k about any of them or seeing them either. It's the people like that I'd have nothing to do with

Reading this thread makes me think there's no hope at all for me
My kid comes before anything and everything. Dated a guy last year who had no kids and he just didn't get that my kid is my main priority. So the relationship ended. Simple as that.
I've no problem dating anyone with kids, doesn't matter what age or how they were conceived either, I've no idea how or why that would play a part In deciding lol |
