Watching prime time tonight and it actually broke me ... our most vulnerable are ignored, abandoned and forgotten.this was the hardest program I've ever watched. Did anyone else see it ??

Yes , watched most of it , just put it on pause while I took the dog out . How bloody terrible does a government have to be , that the citizens of this country who have handicapped children , are hoping that their disabled child will die before them because they are terrified of what will become of their precious and loved child if they die before them ! Disgusting, disgraceful, completely unacceptable!!!

It's heartbreaking and yes I'm furious. .this should be enough to take a government down. I know one of these families and it's disgusting what they're going through.

No parent should ever wish their child dead .... this is what this government has done to people, wishing children dead ..... shame , shame , shame

Didn't see it but it's been going this way since the mid 90s. The government no longer care about helping the weakest in society. They are more interested in cost cutting. It's all papering over the cracks, the wrong agendas are always being put forward. Old people and handicapped people don't get enough care and our health service is dying on its feet but we obsess about water charges and petty stuff like ministers getting sacked over emails. Rome is burns while the political classes point score against each other over petty shit.

Enniscorthy

Watched it myself, felt sorry for the families and their children with the disabilities. The usual nothing promises from the minister who was on. One families allowance was cut to 8 euros a week, just because he took up some work.

This country is nothing but a banana Republic and it's rotten to the core... Seriously thinking about emigrating... I have a good job and make good money but it turns my stomach what's going on here... We're run by a bunch of inadequates and another bunch that just couldn't give a shit... It's disgusting...

I didn't see prime time unfortunately. But I have seen other prime time exposures down through the years. Basically no one is ever held accountable in this country for inadequacy in services for the downtrodden

A woman's allowance cut to €8 because her husband bettered himself ... it's a disgrace. We are a 3rd world country disguised as a 1st world economy. I cry for my children and my grandchildren. .. what have we allowed to happen as a nation. Mothers been beaten by children and no one cares !! Where is our governments empathy

This person is actively involved in fighting for respite care for young adults. But you know not everyone has to but everyone should know exactly what's going on in this country. It's criminal... you've got special needs and your over 18 you've no rights as a citizen as a human. If your a carer you've less rights, the role is not respected, cherished or valued in this country. Every day our constitution is spat on by politicians with their empty promises

We live in a country that sees buying a 3 bedroom house for 1/3 of a million euro as normal or thinks that being bombarded by ads for Christmas 8 to 10 weeks before December 25 is okay. Market capitalism and consumerism dictate what happens these days not politicians. Policitans just bicker about stuff that isn't important while big business makes its money. The no. 1 priority of the government was to keep the banks open during the economic crash, that's where their loyalty is, it's not with the sick and the old, they are just numbers. They cost money coz they don't spend or bring in tax revenue so they are low on the prioritys for big business and politicians

It's not much different in any other country. Every country has similar problems nowadays.

I have spoken to several TDS already about the homeless situation , and when I found out about a blind homeless woman who couldn’t get into a particular hostel because she had a guide dog with her ( this was a couple of years ago) I got straight on to rellivent authorities , there and then ! I also contacted several people in the media , and I have to say I got a response from a very prominent woman tv journalist / tv presenter almost immediately, she put me onto relevant bodies who did help .

Unfortunately this is all true but no matter how small our voices are alone together we can be very loud. We need to remember that and shout together .... fight for what's right, fight for empathy, fight for the weak ones in our society. This is what makes us human.

Good for you, unfortunately we can easily adopt the attitude, that someone else will campaign on others behalf

This is what's needed people having enough balls to say this is not right. We can't solve the big problem but if you can do one small thing we can Hooe for a snowball effect. I hope tonight's prime time is the start of a very big snowball

Unfortunatly no ...I think most people have known quite a while. Tonight though we got to witness the horror that some people through no fault of their own must endure

Nothing ever gets resolved here, new problems arise and people forget.

When the shit does hit the fan, the government calls an election and the merry go round of FF, FG, FF, FG continues each shifting blame to the other. All buddies in the Dail bar.
