First Meetings should ALWAYS be in public - somewhere neutral - so if you wish to, you can walk away in safety or get assistance from others quickly.
Anyone worth the effort won't mind a coffee-shop/bar type venue.

That’s crazy stuff Op!! What a creep. I had a dodgy experience with a guy here a cpl of years ago that scared me, since then, I refuse to meet any guys I’ve not previously met anywhere other than a public place like a bar or cafe, not a chance in hell I’d meet a stranger in a hotel, unless my other half was with me. Any guy that even questions me about this I instantly block. My safety is more important than anything else. |

Both locals.
One business man.
Found out alot of personal details.
Wouldn't take no for an answer.
The other took a picture of me and sent it to me. Followed me. As if that would make me want to meet him.

Hope you okay. I always insist on a coffee in a public place for first meet. The amount of guys who wont but think its acceptable for a woman to meet a complete stranger in a car park and yes i know some people have no problem doing that but i think it is a big risk for anyone to take. I recently was contacted on another dating site telling me he thought i was on this site and he know people i worked with. Scared the hell out of me told him no ones business and blocked him. No idea who is he om here though |

This isn't to question you, op, but there are some info gaps to get a clear picture what happened. How did he get your reg no? Where in the hotel did he cam you? Where you in a room (he must have booked the room so) or at the bar? |

Awful behavior , not to minimize this but is there a chance you’d discussed fantasies with him and he thought you’d enjoy the role play of the situation .? I’m always wary of profiles that state they are dominant as these guys tend to be on the extreme end of humiliation fantasies and treating women like shite , possible he got a thrill out of frightening you but the whole thing is an empty threat cos he wanked off to your sense of fear . Sorry to hear this happened op its scary. I think the OP was scared and posted this as a knee jerk reaction, and a warning to others.
Something like this happened to me not as bad but scary all the same. I was threatened and my kids brought into the equation.
To me it's obvious this idiot set the OP up. Cammed her and followed her to her car to get pics of her registration.Maybe there is more but when you're scared you reach out on different ways. |

Did he tell you your full name and address and the other personal info he found out via kik?
I'm just wondering if he ran your car reg number plates looking for your information wouldn't he himself have to be a garda?
If the gards are now involved in your complaint I'd ask them has any member of the garda ran a check on your plates and info recently. There are proper protocols that garda have to follow to do this. It would show who was snooping and you are entitled to that info as far as I'm aware. |

Probably was a guard, the threats I got were from a guard, and we know they frequent this site in big numbers. |

Have been threatened numerous times on fab..its not a nice place so not suprised at this OP but still..its awful and hope you dont let it affect you
I definitely think everyone should have access to screenshots of veris and profiles so they have a reord of people they meet..its just a simple security measure |

Look at this way, if I'm going to do all sorts of nefarious heinous stuff to you, am I going to tell you beforehand or am I just going to do it?
If I was going to issue threats of that nature, I wouldn't do it via a medium that I could be traced on. The OP has as fab user name and kik username. The IP address and metadata from both should be enough for the Gardai to go to seize electronic devices. |

The gardaí don't seem terribly interested in going down the IP address route, and kik is based in Canada so not terribly helpful either.
It's shocking when anyone is threatened, but it seems almost impossible to get the help and support you'd expect. I do also wonder, as someone else already said, where the OP's Dom was when this happened? It seems to me that he has majorly neglected his duty of care. |

Kik does actually assist with law enforcement around the world

For emergency cases involving the imminent threat of death, or serious physical injury to any person, Kik has established an Emergency Disclosure Request process to allow the release of basic subscriber information to a law enforcement agency'
The above is taken from Kiks advice and guidance for law enforcement.
If the threats was made from a mobile, kik will have that. Metadata will provide the location from which the nessages were sent. In all likelihood, in order to get the GS to act, she would have to go with a solicitor and stress she is scared. |

Note for all ladies, & couples as well, always try to have first meet in a public place. If meeting at a hotel let someone you trust know exactly which hotel or address your at there is some weird people out there better to be safe than sorry. |
