I love Christmas but I have to admit that since the recession hit all those years ago it lost some of its shine for me. I hadn't considered just how expensive it was until I had to start watching what I was spending. The commercial aspect of it went into overdrive the ad well as shops had to work harder to convince people to spend their money and it started earlier and earlier each year. I love Christmas music and all the lights and shopfronts but I can't help thinking that it must be horrendous for the homeless families with children or those struggling to make ends meet already. Lighting up from the 8th of December would suit me perfectly.
