The irony of calling a series set in the future as a new more modern one.
You know modern means current times so it's set centuries before all the previous star treks? |

I'll certainly give it a go and will stick with it unless it's a total disaster. I have to admit, since Bryan Fuller left production, I've been a little less excited and the fact that Netflix aren't giving previews to critics does make me wonder if they've got a stinker on their hands. Still, Michelle Yeoh, Jason Isaacs and Sonequa Martin-Green are all watchable actors, as are Doug Jones and James Frain (though I wish they'd kept the same Sarek actor, Ben Cross as the recent movies, for the sake of continuity).
Star Trek works better on TV than the big screen, IMHO, and it's good to see it back there. |

"Anyone else excited for new star trek show on Netflix out end this month watched trailer it looks quality "
I am skeptical as all hell about this.
But I also sat through all of the turgid mess that was Voyager and Enterprise, so of course I'm watching this.
I, literally, never learn. |

I think ds9 is the series they should be looking to emulate (and definitely not Voyager!) ... It's deep, character driven and work a rewatch even now two decades later! |

I've seen all of the canon series and movies more than once. Even survived Enterprise with Scott Bakula till the end, so I'm sure as hell gonna give this one a go. |

I watched the first 2 episodes this morning (it went online on Netflix at 7am). Really enjoyed it, easily the best ST pilot since, oh, definitely Emissary at least. It's also, unsurprisingly, the most visually stunning ST show but the characters and plot also held the attention. By no means flawless but definitely has me looking forward to episode 3. |

Longtime trekkie and I will follow the series but thought it was terrible having watched it twice now.
So much made no sense, contradicted or didn't fit with established trek canon, or was just plain pointless. |
