hi guys
Just wondering if there are any gaeilgeoirs on here? I was very good at Irish up to my leaving cert where I got a high grade in higher level Irish but that's 13 years ago how time flys..
Would love to brush back up on my Irish to get to a fairly fluent proficiency of same. Just wondering if anyone can help or have an ideas on same? |

I went to an all Irish primary school , my dad taught at that school , he was a native Irish speaker . I then went to an English speaking secondary school and my Irish never really developed past that . I can speak Irish and understand it , but don't speak it as well as my siblings who went to Irish speaking secondary school . I do speak to my daughter in Irish which she understands , but she never ever speaker it back to me . I'd actually love to improve my Irish too . |

Same as spoke it a lot when younger . . Went to college in U.K. And was always great to chat with fellow Irish speakers . . alas when I moved home no one spoke it so when I had kids I make them all speak it so so now can chat with them
Couldn't write it though here in chat . . My spelling would be despicable |

"Good app to brush up on any language is duolingo "
+1 on this app!
Excuse the broken irish, i am trying to work from the head and not google translate.
Nuair a bhí aithne agam go bhfuil gaeilge air duine, i ngach seans chuir mé comhrá ag an duine seo i ngaeilge.
If i know a person has Irish, I use every chance to talk to that person in Irish. |

Tá suim agam, caint faoi gaeilge le duine as an ceantar idirlíon.
Ar mhaith aon duine buail le mise agus caint trid gaeilge. Tá gaeilge briste agam ach tá mé ina chonaí ag foglaim.
Nuair a bhí suim ag aon duine eile, chuir glaoch orm.

Is fearr Gaeilge bhriste, ná Béarla cliste! |
