Loving this season. It keeps getting better with each episode. Last night obviously lacked the 'wow' factor of Drogon attacking the Lannister army but it compensated with dialogue, reunions, first meetings and two big bombshells (Cersei's pregnancy and Rhaegar's annulment).
Loved also the Dirty Dozen/Magnificent Seven/Suicide Squad setup with Jon etc. heading North of the Wall.
Actually, maybe Inglorious (Ned Stark's) Basterd is the movie title I'm looking for? |

Yes, Daenerys was born at the very end of Robert's Rebellion, I think Rhaegar may have even been slain by Robert and her father by Jamie at that time. Her brother Viserys was a child. Rhaegar would've been about early 20s and Lyanna Stark, Ned's sister, about 18, IIRC.
There's a difference in ages between the books and the series - Ned and Robert are about 35 in book one, whereas Sean Bean and Mark Addy were in their 50s. In the book, the rebellion happened about 15 - 13 years earlier and Dany is only 13 or so in the first book (Jon and Robb Stark are a year or two older, IIRC). The timing of the rebellion was pushed back a few years for the series and a few years added onto most of the characters. |

I agree. It seems like it was all made in haste. Events just fly by, whereas there was a steady pace to everything in previous seasons.
Apparently Martin has given HBO a frame to work off for the remainder of the TV series. HBO will fill in the gaps as they please. So there will be more variation between future books and TV show.
Also, what the hells Aariyas issue? I'm starting to think that's not Aariya at all... |

Had the big reveal spoiled on here so wasn't too blown away by it in comparison to Red Wedding. HBO also had this up in a season 7 poster...WTF like!?
Also noticing a big difference since show passed out the books. If a character is fan loved it seems they have Hollywood death proof armour
I agree. It seems like it was all made in haste. Events just fly by, whereas there was a steady pace to everything in previous seasons.
Apparently Martin has given HBO a frame to work off for the remainder of the TV series. HBO will fill in the gaps as they please. So there will be more variation between future books and TV show.

This was actually just a filler season as the shows caught upto the books too quick, its one of thd reasons this is a short season to give time for the last book to be finished. The authour is giving tit bits as to whats happening etc.. |
