The last societal taboo?

Just having a Sunday morning ponder. As society rightly moves towards gender and sexual equality across all fields, is swinging fast becoming the last (legal) sexual taboo?

Just a Sunday morning ponder

To be fair, the op specifically mentioned gender/sexual equality rather than racial equality.

Depends where in the world you are...some countries are more open to swinging than others.many will never get there but some are becoming better.people no longer feel shocked of they hear about it here in ireland...many still tut tut at the thought of it.but slowly we are moving into a better understanding of it.

Funny that 10 years ago few admitted if they did online dating as it was seen as "desperate",) yet now it seems to be the norm for meeting someone..

So swinging wise, am sure in 5 years time most profile pics here will be Face Pics and you'll have video veris and live streaming from each room of a swinging club...

Swinging as a society norm is a strange & interesting ponder alright...

I think we have moved past equality and out the other side to where women are given many more advantages then men. Men are seen as disposable.

Many prefer to keep their personal life private still..with work and children etc people will often choose to remain private and that's to be repesected.putting up pictures of faces isn't always what people want to do.Unfortunately people will always judge and that's never going to change in the short term so you can see why people won't.I agree that online dating has changed hugely. At the start it tended to be people in their 30s or 40s but now you have 18 year olds on tinder and the likes.Society is always moving.people attitudes have changed particularly the younger generation who are more exposed to it than before.

Exactly the point.. Maybe in 10 years keeping their privacy won't be an issue because swinging won't be seen as a taboo... That's why I only mention the ones here cheating, for them, swinging will always be a very, very secret and prohibited thing to do.

Was watching a TED TALK by a lady who said that in a few years, people will get sick of porn because its mostly about "perfect" bodies, bad scripts and so fake in its rhetoric with "f&%k my pu&&y", etc

Instead people will watch real couples online in a romantic setting, kissing, touching, teasing, being sensual and then getting sexual

I know its already being done but does sound more alluring than porn

I think swinging won't be accepted in Ireland for at least another 30 years. Just look what the tabloids do when they here about it.

Some interesting points. We believe we have found our 'normal' and respect others views, just don't judge us for ours.

Hopefully society will get to a non judgemental place about this choice sooner rather than later. In the meantime, we'll just keep having our fun.

I can see what she means about bored of produced porn. The reward center in the brain can get used to certain catalysts and with porn that is no different. Research would tend to suggest though that rather than regressing to not watch porn or watch porn like this lady is suggesting they would tend to start watching morr hardcore/fetish porn. That is a very wide and varied world that for some leads down a very dark path by changing neurological pathways in the brain. The more you watch of anything the easier it is to accept it as normal. Look at some of what Trump gets away with because he is a mentally unstable narcissist, if Obama had done or said similar he would have been lynched. People accept Trumps madness now (I don't mean they condone it)

I dont get why a gay man or woman has to shout from the rooftop about them being gay. You allways know who the gay person is in the room or when out socially.

2 of my mates are gay but they dont go around screaming about it. They are openly gay but not "look at me im gay".

Was sitting on the bus last week with my female friend and her little son,and had to politely ask this gay chap to tone his behavour down a bit,due to a child being present.

Did you have to ask him to tone down his behaviour or his gayness?

Talking out very loud about what he would do to that man on the road below, and then shouting at a young lad getting off the bus that he has a nice ass that would like to fuck. And trying to sexually grind off a hand pole on the bus.

Sorry but no way was going to let that behavour go on in the vacinity of a child.

So i quietly told him to calm down or get off the bus,due to his carry on.

His friend was mortified and said sorry to me when they did get off the bus at their stop.

No, you're quite right and I think any of us would do the same in the circumstances. Behaviour like that isn't specific to gay men though.

Yes that is true. All genders of people can act erratic and strange in public. But i just notice that gay men seem to do it more in public, without a thought for anyone around them.

Its great to be liberated and come out,and im delighted for all gay people, but theres a time and place for it.

Even my 2 gay friends said that themselves.

"Predictive programming" implies that what people watch regularly (in this case, porn) they see as the norm and copy which does not lead to much fun or connection, just a physical act of sex...

Seeing a guy kiss a woman's neck and boobs for ages, being sensual, then getting very physical then having a little cuddle is what I'd prefer to watch..

Don't know if that's anyone cuppa tea? Let me know
