Just had a thought, as I was thinking about The Blues Brothers in the church and redemption and the light and all.
I'm going to unblock everyone I've ever blocked.
Yes, you read it right.
Regardless of reasons, some of which I can't recall, I'm unblocking everyone.
I'm not changing my filters, just unblocking everyone. If you get back on that list, you'll have earned it for a valid reason, to me.
So, fellow Fabbers, are you feeling the love?

My only question would be , why block someone without an explanation. I am like others here and have been blocked . I Have no issue with being blocked for a genuine reason and we can't all gell with each other . A high profile couple blocked me but explained why and that's cool. It's a bit silly and imature when others do so for no reasons other than following the "pack " . Explain why and there are no hard feelings or awkwardness... let's have a big happy love in with all our fellow "fabbers" |

Not surprising that most of the women here will not unblock. Some on my block list have been downright abusive and nasty - why would I subject myself to that again?
Also if anyone is bothered about bullying on Fab why stay? |

It was an ambitious idea, OP, I'll say that
However, nobody has ever blocked someone just for the sake of it. Be it how they've treated or spoken to the person directly, displayed their personality on the forums, perhaps they may recognise them or they live to close to home for comfort; any reason is as fair as the next because we all use Fab as we see fit and make it work for us, not someone else.
The point raised that not telling a person you're going to block them makes a person seem "immature" I can't agree with, as for the aforementioned reasons mostly. Not every block comes through direct interaction with the person but that doesn't make it less 'just'. I'm not gonna message someone and say "Hi, you're my cousin so I'm blocking you"
Nobody is under any obligation to anyone else on here. If someone has you blocked, it's effectively the same as being outside their age preference etc, you're not who they're looking to meet so why worry about it. Put that effort into chatting to those who are looking to meet you
There's always a reason for it. I'm sure I've been blocked by people, as has everyone at some point I would say, it's not up to me to change their mind about it, seek an answer to it or have a meltdown because I don't like it  |

Yeah, my happy, hippy mood was blinding me to the reasons a lot of people use the block for. As such, I perfectly understand why you would not want to unblock. I say that as someone who usually believes in providing second chances but after hearing some of the reasons and seeing some of the communication that some receive, your attitude to my idea is a reasonable and measured one.
As of yet, I've no reason to regret the clearance of the block list. If I ever do put anyone on it again, it will include a private note as to why.
For anyone that did as I did, well done and I hope it doesn't bite anyone in the ass.
Now I wish this match would finish up so I can get out to the BBQ and beers and back to my happy place.
Thanks to all for your viewpoints, specifically to those who stuck to the original thread subject matter.

Some opinions being aired in this thread and from the outside looking in there are two sides to every story and truth normally lays half way between each version of events.... this thread prob best shut down in my opinion before someone says something that they will later regret airing here

My only question would be , why block someone without an explanation. I am like others here and have been blocked . I Have no issue with being blocked for a genuine reason and we can't all gell with each other . A high profile couple blocked me but explained why and that's cool. It's a bit silly and imature when others do so for no reasons other than following the "pack " . Explain why and there are no hard feelings or awkwardness... let's have a big happy love in with all our fellow "fabbers"
Our block list very small but with good reason and don't feel the need to explain to the blocked party why as it is for varies reasons IE: live to close etc
I agree that all are entitled to block anyone for whatever reason they wish and to live to close is 100% a reason I agree with ... just my humble opinion that an explanation before the block button is pressed would make for a happier "fab world "
