"Unless we've already chatted, we ignore them
Would you even look at the profile or just completely ignore?"
Depends if the avatar pic grabs our attention |

I would mail a lady or couple if they wink at me assuming that i can. Its lead to more with some so i keep and eye on them.
But i rarely wink at anyone. I think most girls dont seem to check them |

Same as a message. If interested then message back if not still message but saying thanks but no thanks.
I've yet to see why we have winks when we can message. It's a lazy way of trying to make contact. Words always been a wink hands down in my book...show life between the ears.. |

Not everyone is great at writing a first message but that doesn't mean they're not worth talking to
That's why I think it's great that Fab has so many means to make first contact or show interest! A wink, a Fab or a message; whatever works for you
I'm sure though that given the amount messages women/couples recieve, winks outnumber them ten fold at times. So messages are still the better medium but a connection can still spark from a wink |

Reading a profile and seeing something that prevents me from mailing or possibly a contradiction like "won't meet smokers" but yet they smoke I'd use the wink function and if they wink back then I'd mail them.
It amazing what can come from a wink |

I send winks now rather than type up a message that may not be read! At least if the person winks back, then you know they're interested and start a convo. It's less annoying to not get a reply to a wink than to have a message not read! |

I'm shy to begin with and am a serial Winker! This feels like an AA meeting
If I get a Wink, I'll almost always write a Thank you response and, if interested in the lady, add something relating to them or their profile. Have had some good natters as a result. |

Yep each to their own. It's good to have choices and options. It would seem most women ignore winks according to the forums.
Just a thought, It might be reflective of their self confidence depending on their approach of a wink or first message....open to discussion. |

I like to receive them.
I see them as a 'thinking of you' sign.
Or if it's from 'strangers' it's a kinda 'look at me and if you like get in contact'. So I wink or msg back |

We just delete them as they're usually sent by neanderthals trawling the site send them out by the dozen in hope of a reply. Genuine, articulate profiles will have the courtesy of short mail. Unfortunately winks can not be deactivated |
