"Should the Irish people welcome the US President " I don't think our country could accommodate trumps ego. I particularly feel for the undocumented irish in america at this time, the fear and uncertainty they must be experiencing with all his rhetoric, not to mention his neanderthal view of women, as our washington correspondent experienced last week in the play pen.

"DH Dont understand what your trying to impress us with your knowledge of corporate tax income in Ireland. Apple were the biggest contributors of corporation tax in 2015 @ 400 millions " I've no idea where you got that figure from and you couldn't have picked a worse company to make your point. Apple paid at a 0.005% tax rate in 2014, I very much doubt that this figure was much higher in 2015. Theoretically the standard corporate tax rate in Ireland is 12.5%.

"above is deluded. the US produces the biggest amount of scientific research. it's probably the most liberal country in the world.I'm afraid Snow flake is here to stay" Thats why Trump denies climate change ? Why he wants to bring back coal jobs ? Why he wants to cut funding to cancer/hiv research amongst others. Trump hasn't a notion. Americans in certain states certainly much more likely to be on cutting edge of science than others. Do you believe climate change is happening ? What do you think is causing it if so ? You're woeful at debate . Avoid . Avoid . Avoid. As for gun deaths per 100k people the high rate in America against Irish/Uk stats. What do you think that indicates ? How many countries in the developed world have a higher gun murder rate than the u.s ?

"Should the Irish people welcome the US President Absolutely. He's a democratically elected president and a breath of fresh air. Long may he continue and I look forward to seeing him over here Fresh air? He hasn't got anything fresh about him, he's a figurehead for a dying part of the population, dinosaurs. So a newly elected president represents a dying part of a population? How exactly does that make sense? Clearly it's not dying...its growing Except, it's not actually growing... His base has been declining ever since he has taken office. Just like most support for Brexit came from parts of the population that will not or hardly have to deal with the long-term consequences, knee-jerks of dying/declining 'resentido' base group of voters. That's nice. Did Facebook tell you that? Or maybe the liberal media. They have a good track record when predicting failure for trump alright don't they... Sheep" Actually, peer reviewed research did. Back over to you.

Gun control came up as a tangent to the main topic. Try keep up x

" this is getting silly now.the snow flakes are coming out of their caves " Would you like Donald Trump to grab your mother or if you had/have a sister by the pussy because he is a self proclaimed "star" ? Still not answered the climate change question. You are more avoidnt than Kelly Ann Conway with her alternative facts or indeed Sean Spicer. The irony of saying liberals are in a cave when Trump wants to reinvigorate the coal industry. Backwards thinking indeed from Trump.

"He was elected by US citizens in a democratic way.not one person has given one good reason why the President of the United States should not be welcomed to this country. " All reasons so far are personalised reasons... a fairly common theme on fab rather than rational thought... One can have rational thought, disagree but still see not see it as a valid reason for him not coming. There's alot of fabbers who shouldn't be allowed on fab if we were to apply the reasons stated so far and that my friends probably include everyone of us who have contributed to this thread. I look forward to some genuine valid reasons why a democratically elected president shouldn't be allowed to visit Ireland or are we just too in trenches in bigotry here for our own good?

I read it collectively (Irish people) as a group/nation, unless I'm mistaken, and so rather than personal hate/vendettas or dislikes, surely the reasons should be for the collective good/bad of the nation. And to call individual peoples political opinion, opposition and disagreement with Trumps behaviour, thinking and politics "personal hate", "vendettas" etcetera is just appalling. We're all entitled to our opinion, this is a democracy (even though a quite corrupt one).
