Differences in Ireland

I'm a fairly recent arrival in Ireland and have to say what a wonderful place it is, despite the "Summer".

I have noticed a difference in some subtle ways when it comes to sites like this and general swinging and sex. I'd be interested in other's perspectives and perhaps reasons for it.

1. Attitudes to safe sex - I have been surprised by how many women (yes women) don't bring it up when meeting, surprised that I insist on a condom. This isn't a generalisation just an observation and a difference I've noticed.

2. The limited range of other apps websites dedicated to adult play and swinging (maybe size of the market) and the sophistication of the available sites

3. You Irish are lots of fun and so very very friendly but scratch the surface and actually making friends (like getting to know your neighbour) with the Irish as a foreigner is extremely hard.

No criticisms intended just observations

1. As recently observed by a media medic, the Irish are poor at taking personal responsibility. Call it a hangover from the days when all our woes could be blamed on the colonists.

2. Small population

3. Don't make the mistake of confusing "wanting to know everything about you" with friendliness.

Definitely would agree - and love the phrase let's meet for coffee when they have no intention of ever following through

Lmfao, an American friend of mine recently commented "Gawd, I was so naive when I moved here,I thought people actually meant it when they said they would call over sometime"

I moved here 17 years ago.

'How yer doing?' is always asked up here. I didn't know it just meant hello.

I can still remember the horrified, caught in the headlights look as I kept them standing there for 5 minutes while I answered them.

Pmsl, did you figure out yet that 'Well, I won't keep you" is a euphemism for "go away"?

As a foreigner I've noticed that the people here are really friendly, probably not inviting to their homes but they are always prompt to help you and they always talk to you.

In relation to women, in my opinion they are very beautiful and they like to go out in their best.

Safe sex is something individual, an option, I don't play without protection but in the end it's my personal option.

I can't talk much more because I always go out in city centre and the number of foreigners in the places are to high.

In my office there are more foreigners than irish, in the college the same, so it's really hard to give a reasonable opinion about differences...

South Side.

I always bring up the safe sex conversation, just so we are agreed on whats going to happen.

Me too.

As an aside I have to laugh at the profiles that state no bareback and have bareback pics or other risky behaviour photos.
