Ireland / Northern Ireland swinger's club

It is my dream to open a swinger's club either in Northern Ireland or over the border in the South. It is something my partner and myself are looking into quite intently, but we'd like to do a bit market research 1st. We'd like to know firstly if it would be worth the time, effort and of course, the money. Would there be an interest in one opening? Who would be interested in going? How far would you be willing to travel? What would you say would be acceptable entry charge? Any other info / feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance |

Yes, we go to a club in England and were going to be including the Jacuzzi and sauna and potentially a swimming pool further down the line. Most definitely theme nights are a must. We were thinking of including chalets too, (an idea based around another club we went to once,) so people had somewhere they could stay overnight if they had a long drive or wanted to make a full night or 2 out of their experience! We were thinking of having it really close to the border, but more on the southerly side, kind of central to both Belfast and Dublin. We don't want to be slap bang in the middle of nowhere, obviously somewhere rural, quiet and discretionary, but not impossible to find! Lol. Thanks for the luck, from what we've heard, we'll be needing it as we'll be met with a LOT of opposition if word gets out in the wrong mouths! x |

Best of luck with it. I hope it takes off for you.
The chalet idea is brilliant!
There's a b&b in carlingford like that and I always thought what an ideal place to host a party.
My only advice is make sure the place is impeccably clean, once a place gets a rep for being scruffy it's all down hill from there. |

South Dublin Area |
Theres 1.2m people in the greater dublin area. Theres not currently a club open in Dublin that I am aware of. We began this adventure around 9 months ago and have probably met around 500 people in that time not personally but been in their company socially. Out of the amount of these people. we have only met them once i would say its around 95% of them. I have come to the conclusion that dublin has a huge swinger population.
We were at kk(which was amazing btw) at the weekend, only knew about 10 people at it, where have all these people been hiding?
Dublin is ripe for a club personally, somewhere of the M1 near the airport would be a good location.
Security/safety is the most important thing personally.
Best of luck, i know lots of people who would be very interested, the key is to make an impression to encourage people to come back. |

My daughter and her friends went there about a month ago. when I was looking at the pictures it crossed my mind it would be perfect for swingers. |

Not sure about the south but the challenge in the North will come once the DUP and press get wind (which they will)
Look what happened when a strip club opened in Belfast for a few months.... |

Brightish in some areas, clean, safe, comfortable and fridges for drink is a must, even its bring your own.
But if chocolate too.
Good changing areas.
Over night chalets is great!
Clientele is a big thing too.
Loved cupids in Manchester, great couples play room that others could watch through Windows but not enter unless your a couple. Much more fun for me and a friend as guys trying to join in or getting to close WITHOUT being asked was always a turn off.
Clean showers and themed areas too.
Seems to be getting bigger over here. So go for it.

north cork |
Cork is a 2.5 hour drive to dublin.
Cork is a 4.5 hour drive to Belfast.
Galway is a two hour drive to dublin but a 4 hour drive to Belfast.
Belfast to dublin is less than 2 hours.
The medium here is Dublin.
Close to m50.
Maybe kildare or around Portlaoise at a push. 2 to 2.5 hours drive then for everyone from all corners of Ireland.
Would be as cheap for anyone not living in dublin or north of it to just fly to the uk if ye were to open in Belfast.
We are cork so im talking from this sides point of view. Loads of hotels too so never short of a room closeby to m50.
Best of luck with your venture
Love seeing people do well for themselves. |

Gingerrr I know the place and owner in Carlingford, they miss nothing. BUT there is a big house for rent in the village, myself and Pinks have often thought of renting it to host a party if we could get interest in it. |

Here in N-Ireland it's difficult enough even trying to shop on a Sunday never mind have a swinging club, the doo gooders would be picketing outside lol I think even after 35 years the sex shops in Belfast city centre can't get a license |

'I have a dream...'
You do know you wouldn't be able to have sex with the customers? Still interested?
If it is your passion go for it but I would expect sporadic numbers, attendance and to run a heavy loss while getting a reputation as 'the swinger in the village'. |

Hey Sandy couple,
Have just had a read over this whole thread and thought I would throw in my thoughts.
I would love to see your idea come to fruition, I really would but I'm afraid Northern Ireland is just too religious based and backward sexually.
I used to co-own one of the adult shops in Belfast and as topman said, the City Council just flat out refuse to grant a license to any of the sex shops in Belfast stating that it is "immoral" and not "Godly". Every so often they would raid the shops and confiscate items then prosecute the owners and give them hefty fines.
As someone else said, there was a strip/topless bar and it was soon closed down.
I also remember reading in newspaper about a swingers club in Belfast (a small and private one) and the press were all over it giving the impression it was "seedy" and "sleazy".
If you were to open a swingers club in the north you can be sure that the DUP would be all over it and it would be picketed constantly. The place may also be raided from time to time so that checks can be made that everything is as it should be in accordance with laws. The press would be all over it too. This would all be off-putting for your potential customers. I'm sure you're aware that most swingers want discretion so they wouldn't want to be seen going in or out of the place if it is constantly being watched, picketed or raided.
I'm not trying to be off putting for you but these are things you need to be aware of before investing any money or capital. I suppose the difference being though that while the sex shops were acting illegally (because the council wouldn't grant them a licence) they had no ground to stand on whereas I suppose in your case if they persisted (and you were acting within the law) you would be able to take any bodies or parties to court for harassment.
If I can be of any help, or you need any advice or information then feel free to drop me a message at any time. Good luck, whatever you decide. |

The commercial viability, of such a venture, is likely to be questionable, as the only likely chance of long term survival, is to purchase the property(landlords will not want associated with any adverse publicity). Any suitable venue is likely to cost a substantial amount, given the minimum requirements for space and facilities expected. So basically, it's going to take a wealthy person/syndicate, openly lifestylers(there will be publicity) and willing to gamble on there being sufficient numbers, week in, week out, to make it a viable business. Clubs in England and further afield, generally open 6/7 night's a week and I don't see that happening, over here. Sometimes even the established hosts over here, struggle to get guest numbers into 3 figures, once, or twice, a month??
Done right, the investment would be huge, bringing with it a huge risk.
Just my view of course....MrNorth |

Seen a place that is closed down, and thought to myself it would be good for swinger Parties. Your filters, I cannot pm you. |

You'd have no problem getting people to go to it that's for sure if you could keep it open,
But imo it would never in the months of Sunday's work here in the north , far to many bible thumper s here would kick up stink , and as said the paper would be all over it like a rash |

Swingers and Gays are two different things and are treated differently by the council/police/press etc
Let's just say the sauna thing has been tried in Belfast and didn't work... |

Hey folks. I've been to clubs in England a lot and the focus is very different in comparison to here in NI/south. I think house parties here are focused around ppl drinking until inhibitions are dropped via over use off booze. Then the playing starts. This folks is not an off the cuff remark but my experience. I truly wish a club would succeed here. But I simply can't see it |
