clearing out

Maybe something we can relate to i dunno but here it goes..

Today for the first time since the death of my parents i cleared out there house its bin over 18 months. But i felt like i invaded there stuff like personal things pps numbers bank stuff etc an so forth.. just curious did anyone else find that they where like invading there belonings things other people shouldnt see.. What ever about photos an normal stuff like that.. maybe it was just me curious too know though.

Didn't see this thread earlier.

I wouldn't see it as an invasion in any way. And much better for a family member to be doing it rather than a randomer who just dumps everything into bags for the skip.

At least this way you got to have time to close their lives in a respectful way. That is what they would have wanted I'm sure.

I had to do the same. Though my parents knew I'd be the one and were pretty organised about things I still felt very odd clearing out their personal belongings. Closing that door for the final time absolutely broke my heart.

It's all part of the circle of life.

I have done it with father belongings with mother and rest of family after a long period of time.didnt feel like invading but was increddibly sad over whelming moment

Although we did keep few special things that meant something to us and my father

I think its nice to hold onto something they loved whether it be a junper or tie or even a pair of glasses or just something personal .

I just felt strange going true it an sorting it out noting bad just personal stuff.

Though like family photos an other stuff where really nice too see. Few pics of me thrown in there of me in the nip as a nipper as well lol..
