I wonder are they still vetted like our other pics we upload?
As we all know fake pics slip through that system, I seen a famous French footballer joined the other day and is now living in Dublin. So will this new function leave the floodgates open to more fake pics (face/body) being shared?

Sounds like they could have put a few more restrictions on it, like just send to friends or people you have already chatted to. Every woman will have an inbox full of dick pics, if they aren't already. Sounds a fun feature though if used properly |

Direct pic is adding it from your phone to the message.
But. When adding a pic direct. You can add from your galley or add from your camera app. Does it tell you that part.

nope just tested it out now on a live photo and a photo in our gallery and both said this..

There's some app that kind of trick that part, you can use an app that, when you send a pic via your gallery on Kik, it'll show "taken from camera" even tho it was a gallery picture |

There's some app that kind of trick that part, you can use an app that, when you send a pic via your gallery on Kik, it'll show "taken from camera" even tho it was a gallery picture"

Their isn't one. It says direct pic. So doesn't prove anything or safeguard in anyway. Just makes sending pics easier. Only useful if you feel confident the person is who they appear to be.
Nothing stopping somebody attaching a pic they downloaded or screenshot and nobody would know. Still need to be taking your own precautions |

Not by any site. If they really want your pics they will be able to get around any right click blocker or whatever term you want to use |

this could be a nifty way for those seeking to send unsuitable/ illegal content to your device ! where does the liability lie in the event illegal contact is sent to your receiving device (phone/ laptop etc ) . i think you will find the liability is on the receivers end . youd really want to know who is sending the stuff to protect yourself from prosecution even . !!!
open to correction , but i think its a dangerous addition that absolves fab from any liability arising from misuse. |

I'm just teasing. But in all seriousness it's no diff to being sent anything on any app. No more or less risky. Just speeds up pic swapping and cuts out the excuses for not swapping
You cannot be liable for somethings beyond your control like unsolicited pics. It's scaremongering to suggest otherwise.
Use the report button and don't save or forward it and you cannot be accountable |

exactly. It means you don't need to store your face pics on site if you don't want to either.

But how will it? Is it a live camera shot you can only take or send pics direct from your gallery?
I'm still not sure how it works "
All screen shots go into gallery so no sure how it's going to help. I'd say it'll increase more fake pics as there is no vetting at all. Not sure what Fab are thinking tbf. It'll open fake pics floodgates. .. as they'll get deleted after 24hrs too so fakers will feel more comfortable to send them. |

true but profiles that don't tend to have themselves verified are bit dubious in my opinion,
I have the fear of some guy pretend to be a chick hunting any and all types of pics |

There is no negative. Nobody is saying this is something safe. You still have to use your brain.
The site doesn't protect anyone against fake pics as it is. Realistically anyone could go to any other profile or website and take a bunch of pics down. Cut the faces off or profile names off the bottom and upload here. Then send them. So here's the added risk or the screening protection you think is any better with normal pics? |

I'm not trying to piss in anyone's corn flakes but I am a realist. Nothing you upload to the Internet is safe. If somebody wanted to copy your pics and use them. There is no way to stop them doing it.
If they really wanted they could use a phone to take pics of their iPad screen. You get the idea.
Take your own precautions. That's the only thing that will be fool proof. If somebody doesn't take a pic you feel is an easy one then don't continue the discussion |

I've just tested it. Send a picture downloaded off a porn site. It went through no problem and the recipient was able to save it. Both faces on show in the pic. This is such a stupid idea by admin it's unreal  |

I think you're missing the point. It's not replacing anything. It's in addition to.
You can already do what you just said as the system stands before this update. It just takes longer.

Do non site supporters have this option? Seems good for them but personally when I'm a site supporter why send one when i can remove it whenever I want? Or is it the fact you can access pics from your phone that's the benefit.
It safes the hassle of uploading one, waiting for approval when I want to send a picture to one person only. exactly. It means you don't need to store your face pics on site if you don't want to either.
You can have as many as you want on your phone and take new ones as and when you feel like it.

says you need to be verified to use it also. so cant just be a fresh new user. |

Watch all the new forum posts complaining even more about the increase in fake pics from the Internet with no control. My opinion. ..its a backwards step on an issue that causes alot of wasted time and bandwidth on the forum already. Fakes will have a hay day with absolutely no control... don't see any benefit over the existing system....just increased fake traffic. |
