"A Galway meet & greet would be fun - maybe the numbers Fabbers in the west have increased a bit more?"
There's plenty of Galway fabbers, but from experience few will attend a local event. I travel almost every weekend myself to fab stuff.
The last couple of organised Galway socials had an incredible amount of no shows - disappointing for the organsers |

For all of its liberal reputation, Galway is a small town and a lot of people worry that they'll be recognised, which is probably why the M&Gs haven't been successful.
Hopefully that's changing though. |

Its understandable that people dont want to be pointed out in the wrong situation by someone who might be more open to admiting being on here than they are haha |

Geordie is right. I went to a few m& g's in galway and there were a lot of no shows specially single fellas. I really enjoyed them but i know the organisers were very disappointed at people saying theyd come but who didnt. |

We went to a meet and greet in Galway...there was supposed to be about 50 people going.....20 turned up! Felt sorry for organizer.
To be honest Galway is not great for getting meets...unless you bring someone with you and then it turns out great |

You have no idea the amount of work involved to organise even a simple pub social.
I saw the dozens of mails a female fabber had to contend with when we did something similar in Limerick a few weeks ago, and only a handful turned up. You couldn't pay me to do it |

If/When I get back to doing events, Galway is top of my list. My last Galway one was a truly Fabulous weekend for the Delightful Dora's Birthday Party in 2010 |

"I see 2 replies. But any local woman that knows the score around Galway like myself to give a hand from the female perspective??"
You don't need a female 'perspective'
You're just hoping some lass will organise this for you |

Hi G no I'm not looking for a lass to organise it. I am just seeking their fab knowledge and input to it. That's all. Think I have the ideal place for it anyway and just seeking their advise and also keeping it private |

Seems to be a good bit of interest from couples as well , there is plenty of places to meet in galway for a drink it shouldnt be any hassle to get something started , dates is the only problem for me |

Hire a camper van would work out cheaper and you'd have your bed with you too |
