Rigorous work outs can affect insulin/blood sugar levels which could cause a hypo.

My first bf was a type 1 diabetic (insulin dependent), it didn't effect his libido or virility. He did take precautions like doing a glucose test before sex and keeping some sugary liquid to hand like Lucozade to take swigs of if his sugar level dipped.

If you have good glucose control , monitor yourself and make provision for like carrying Lucozade or something equivalent should you go hypo you should be ok.
