I was a moderator on another forum where this was suggested. The regulars were constantly complaining about being moderated and how the moderators spoiled all the fun. So they got their wish, 24 hours of no mods, they could say what they liked. It was awful, things got incredibly nasty, old grudges were hauled back out after festering for years, and by the time the 24 hours were up, the forum was all but destroyed. The amount of bile that was spewed in one day was shocking. I don't think it was much fun for anyone and I certainly don't think it would be much fun were it to happen here either. |
