As far as I know there is an official campsite nearby. €20-€25 per person for 2 nights and 24hr security, toilets & showers on site. I'll see if I can find the details again

Not when you take into account that it's for 2 nights & Security & facilities on site.

Also the bookings are done online through an agent so far too much of a paper trail to dodge tax.

No doubt there will be enterprising locals taking cash on the day to let people pitch a tent or park a van, but that's the case with any large event.

Don't know if I'd like to be stuck in slane for two nights. One night for 20e would be enough for me.

People do it in kilkenny for concerts. 20e you get space to pitch a tent, dropped into the town for the gig and breakfast rolls in the morning. Can't recommend them enough

Pre tent check in the garden yesterday evening..no holes/tears and only took us 20 minutes to erect

Sorry to burst anyones balloon but I saw them circa 2006 in RDS and they were utter shite. Castrated cats comes to mind not one of the greatest bands of all time. Long past there prime along with most of the bands from the 80s.

This is a totally different line-up. 2006 was basically Axl and hired hands. Slash and Duff are back in the band now. Reviews from the USA have been very positive, as were the reviews of Axl fronting AC/DC.

Royal blood are definitely worth a look. Saw them live a couple of years ago. Two piece that sound like a full band. I'm still trying to figure out how the bassist sounds like himself plus two guitars, but I've a fair idea.

they played the O2 and it was pure shite, late coming on, and axl walked off after 2 songs, they're missing Steven Adler and Izzy stradlin so technically not the original line up, think I'll remember them as they were back in 92

Slane farm / Hostel have a few fields ready - lights toilets etc...

There are also a few farmers have fields prepared

Camping started last night, will be fun today/ tonight
