So, messaging a couple tonight to come meet at theirs. Swap face pics and all . Grand. Ask me to to drive to theirs, and then give them a number to confirm house number. As soon as I send number I'm blocked.

Turns out, I missed one digit of the phone number. Am I at fault or am I just getting in touch with shifty people?

Dont name and shame, these things happen. Learn from it. But naming and shaming will result in issues from the admins for yourself.

It could be that you were the latest in a line of people who they feel have let them down. And when they seen that you gave them a wrong number they flipped out and blocked you. Or they could be time wasters. Perhaps the truth is somewhere in the middle. Maybe they got cold feet. Everyone is allowed to change their mind at any point. They could have changed their minds and blocked you to avoid drama. It's a shitty thing to do but it does happen

You deal with this like an adult though. You just move on. Naming and shaming will get you a ban and it also kicks off a cycle of drama.

It's unfortunate that you didn't get your good night out but it could have been worse. There are stories of people being given dodgy addresses and driving 2 hours to find out that they were just being jerked about.

Hopefully you can get lucky next time

Maybe when they tried to call you on the number you sent and found out it did not work they blocked you as they may have thought you where a time waster

Mistakes happen but you can't really say their Shitty people because of a mistake you made

And to the poster who said name and shame for what reason do you think he should name and Shane,?? For someone blocking him??

If thats a reason to name and Shane id be named a few times a week

Honestly if I was arranging a meet with someone and they gave me a wrong number , I would think they were messers and block them as well

Yes

You had 2 meets, both bailed according to your status....

"Two meets tonight, and both bailed. Fab is getting pretty shit"

So you gave one a number that didn't work... your fault not theirs.

"How were you going to fit 2 meets into one night anyhow OP?"

I have had multiple meets in one day and I would guess so have many others on the site so it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that the OP could have got more than one meet in on any given night.

Would you really take someone seriously who you were arranging to meet after you text or call the number they gave and it isn't them ?

If I'm texting someone or calling them I usually say hi and tell them that I'm meanduforfun from fab , so I'd then have outed myself to god knows who .

Then there's the scenario where the number doesn't even exist , instant block as well .

If it was someone I was interested to meet I'd some benefit of doubt first, question things rather than assuming and I'd probably notice a digit is missing.

Instablock is an over the top reaction

To be fair though, if there's a digit missing from the number then you haven't outed yourself to anyone.

I think blocking instantly for a presumably silly mistake is rather harsh. Surely a quick pm would clarify the matter?

Mmh I don't know maybe I've just been around to long . Any sign of someone being a messer which I would class this as , and I'm done might be harsh to some but I can understand why the couple blocked him .

I just think I'm capable of making the odd mistake myself so I'm happy to give others the benefit of the doubt to start with. Fair enough if people are perfect and don't tolerate the slightest mistake from anyone else but Jeez... It's harsh unless there's already some suspicion in the air.

I never said I was perfect, OP asked for opinions , I gave mine just because it isn't the same as yours does not mean it is wrong.
