So tell me wise folk of fab , if you need excuses to get away from families , friends , kids , what do you use ???
We are running out of birthdays , house warmings , going away and welcome home parties , I think we have even used summer/winter parties 
Nosy family members are a big reason we can't get away more often and it is getting frustrating  and no the whole mind your own business doesn't work

Just tell them you go away to have some filthy couple times.
First of all, it's true, secondly, nothing wrong with it and hopefully that will stop them asking the next time. |

My kids are older so I don't really explain anything.
But I have invented a friend in Dublin that I visit sometimes if any of them are being nosy. Its half based on truth so I#m not likely to trip myself up.
Could you have an old school friend move back to Ireland and now lives an hour away. Would explain why you had to stay over when you meet them - you can't drink and drive |

Tell them your bar is closed for gradual refurb and youre souring new materials that will take you away every so often.  theyll be in shock and mind the kids and send you off on your merry way...lol |

We are in the same boat. We depend on family if we want to go for an overnight. Now we are finding it hard to get a sitter for a weekend night. Young ones don't want babysitting jobs anymore |

In the same boat here. Depending on babysitters can be hard. Esp over night. I do have a great family to help but finding the reasons will start getting hard soon. So we've just said that we want to have some time alone cause he works so much and I always have the kids. |

"In the same boat here. Depending on babysitters can be hard. Esp over night. I do have a great family to help but finding the reasons will start getting hard soon. So we've just said that we want to have some time alone cause he works so much and I always have the kids. "

My family always know where I'm going for meets but obviously not the reason. Good job too cause i was in an accident last week on way to a meet. I'd no explaining to do cause I was meeting my "friend" close to where I had the accident. Half truths always work best |

Very true we have been caught before by bumping into people in places nowhere near where we said we were going  So we have learnt from that .
