Late night creeper
My poetry’s deep- and now its about to get deeper
This ones about a thief...he’s a late-night creeper…
He’s got a beautiful girlfriend and a beautiful child
But they can’t tame the cat because the cat is wild
He goes out and enters the world at night
This is his time- the dark is his light
He walks into a neighbourhood and chooses a house
Time to go to work and be as quiet as a mouse
He pops the window open and listens for noise
In the distance a dog barks…another one cries
Everything is still...so it’s time to get in
Here goes another chapter in his book of sin
He stands in the living room- it’s so very dark
From outside he can still hear that stupid dog bark!
Suddenly its bright as a car drives by
Oh shit- that was close and he lets out a sigh
Okay, he found what he came for so it’s time to get out
He’s halfway out the window when he hears a shout!
Suddenly from the shadows a blue uniform appears
To be caught in a house is one of his deepest fears
The house is surrounded- the game is up
His life is half empty- so is his cup
So on with the handcuffs… to the police station he goes
He’s going to prison- deep down he knows
Pictures of his girlfriend flash through his head
If only he had listened when she asked him to go to bed…
There’s nothing romantic about the life of a thief
He’s short on morals- he lacks self-belief
So, the next time you think about robbing someone’s home
Just think of where you’ll end up… remember my poem
You’ll just be digging a hole that gets deeper and deeper
Life’s not good for a late-night creeper… |
