"On RTE2 atm.
Anyone else watching this?
3 part documentary on how the 25-35 year old generation are fucked.
Really interesting. How are they fucked?"
Zero hour contracts, unable to get jobs, no social housing, rental crisis, unable to get a mortgage. Plus many, many more reasons. |

My kids are in this age range. One is doing just fine. Another has some work but nothing regular and the other went to Aus. Even the one thats doing well would find it hard pushed to get a mortgage - even tho she could afford it. The deposit now would be a killer |

For a lot of people, yes it seems that way. The future is quite bleak looking for many. |

I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll never own a home. It'd take me forever to get the deposit together and by the time I had it, I'll probably be too old to get a mortgage.

It wasn't moaning or cribbing. It was actually a very interesting documentary and showed the reality of a lot of people's situations |

My daughters the same. The mortgage repayment would probably be the same as her rent but its getting the deposit together |

I think it's a terrible label and just gives an excuse for apathy and being a financial retard early in life and not being prepared for later in life.
Take it with the ebbs and flows of life and continue to prosper. People in their 50s now were born into and lived through reccession for a large chunk of their lives and most are doing very well now.
"no social housing" fuck that entitlement culture |

It's not entitlement culture.
How else do you expect people to find somewhere to live when rents are crazy high, mortgages unattainable and wages below a living wage?
There's no support for the people who need it |
