Ahhhh the wink can mean many things to many different people..

Here is my understanding

From a single male ... Im horny and I need a ride. ( he will also have this on his status)

From couples... We like the look of u and fancy a chat

If they don't wink u back after u have responded to their wink then u missed out

The serial winker... He/ she winks at everyone thinking this will increase their chances.

There r some genuine wankers sorry I mean winkers out there...

I have no doubt there are many more meanings

So i dont really get the point of them to be honest. Its as easy for someone to email really.

I think a Wink is a nice way of showing appreciation of a profile and initiating some interest too. They are also far better than sending the random "friends invite" here..

We wink at a profile that interests us , having great pics etc , and if we get a wink back , we would then send a mail as,we think they have an interest in us then , couldnt be sending emails all the time as sum people do get swamped with them, so a wink can be a nice way to say we like what we see

Reading a complete profile and I think yea I could get on with this/these person but there's one small thing that prevents me mailing like a year to old or they say the don't meet smokers but are smokers them selves I'd send a wink

if the wink is returned then I may mail and see where it goes.

I don't follow the theory it's a lazy way of contacting a profile more a polite way to say hi I like what I see
