Anyone have any tips on how to boost energy levels!? Diet would be pretty good with a decent in take of water and fairly balanced sleep. But often finding at like 4 or 5 in the evening I am wrecked. Coffee doesn't even do it for me!
All suggestions welcomed! |

Have a decent breakfast in the morning that releases energy slowly...porridge with milk..toast and some fresh fruit is ideal. The core temperature in the body drops because of loss of energy, which produces melatonin, the chemical that signals the brain for sleep mode. Eat a light healthy lunch with turkey breast or eggs. Peanut butter, wholewheat crackers or nuts mid afternoon is also great to boost your energy levels. |

The breakfast I have covered with the porridge and milk every morning with some banana and honey. The lunch could be a contributing factor alright cos sometimes end up ignoring that!
Thanks for the advice! Il try it!! In the mean time... Im away for a nap |

Skipping meals is a very bad idea, your blood sugar will dip, causing fatigue.
Also, if you consume a lot of caffeine, it can affect your adrenals, this can lead to chronic exhaustion. |

Haha good observation! But I think we can both admit the best advice on this forum has either come from a female or couple post! |

Is there any 1 way to identify chronic exhaustion?! Or the most effective way to treat it?! |

It's worth seeing a doctor to rule out any medical condition that might be a factor, but otherwise it's a question of pursuing a balanced, healthy lifestyle and eliminating or reducing aggravating factors. Work or personal stresses can contribute to feelings of exhaustion too. Stress causes us to produce cortisol, constantly elevated levels will burn you out.

How to tell if you have chronic fatigue?
Symptoms of CFS may include:
loss of memory or concentration.
feeling unrefreshed after a night's sleep.
chronic insomnia (and other sleep disorders)
muscle pain.
frequent headaches.
multijoint pain without redness or swelling.
frequent sore throat.
tender lymph nodes in your neck and armpits
You experience any of these? |

Cut out the sugar intake.
Add beetroot, celery, ginger, turmeric to your intake. |

A dip in energy is generally caused buy a lack of fuel in your body, meaning you do not have enough good slow release carbs ingested in the previous 12 hours. Oats in the morning or whole meal toast with scrambled egg and coffee. You can snack on as much fruit as you like throughout the. Chicken or tuna wrap/pitta for lunch with natural yougurt and berries to follow. Dinner can be anything from brown pasta to sweet potato, some veg and fish you like it. Vegetable lasagna is a fave here. Great way to use up veg.
Your body needs sugars but just the right kind. I do shift work and I am wiped out half way through the day if I'm not eating well. No harm going to a doctor but he will more than likely refer you to a dietitian |

Don't have oats, toast and fruit juice for breakfast! Such a bad idea that is just nothing but just carbs in different variations... you will have a sugar crash a few hours later be hungry before lunch time which leads to snacking which leads to my sugar rush which leads to that crash when you get home...
Get your eight hours sleep at night don't stay up late watching Netflix.

Cheers for all the advice!
I do get my 8 hours in most of the time. Infact when I'm off work I tend to get probably closer to 10 hours if I've nothing planned and even then I find myself hitting a slump or feeling exhausted by 4 or 5!?!!
Like I was saying my diet would be pretty consistent apart from the lunch, as in sometimes I don't have it. Not because I'm too busy or anything sometimes it just because I wouldn't really feel hungry?! Going to improve on that and see how I fare out. |
