Personally I don't think anything would be said of somebody having sex with a male female on here as long as they're 18 or older BUT when it comes to a serious relationship that's where things changes with people's views/opinions. In your opinion would you be "embarrassed" to get into a serious relationship with someone because you feel they're to young/ old even though you know there is an attraction? Discuss   |

In principle no problem but it's very much situation dependent.
Mainly around the maturity of the younger party and if the arrangement is free of manipulation, money or daddy/mommy issues |

say yourself been 31, got to like a 20 yo for argument sake. Ye both liked one another but that age issue is there. Would it bother you or would you go there? |

I wouldn't let age stop me dating someone I like. But the chances of someone young being mentally mature enough for me to be attracted to them are very very slim. |

I usually go by the half your age plus 7 rule. Seems to work alright but if there was someone I was really into that fell a bit outside that Id probably go for it. But realistically girls might be more mature younger but youre at completely different stages of life and they'll have experienced a lot less including stuff youve no interest in anymore. So yeah half your age plus 7  |

I would hate to have seen my 19 year old daughter with a man of 39. I cannot imagine what they would have had in common.
Would I feel the same about my 19 year old boys being with a 39 year old woman? Probably not. I know what they would have in common! |

I already know my daughter is unlikely to find a peer in her own age range, what matters to me is that she is happy with her choice of partner and that they treat each other with respect. |

Op there's many many other reasons why family members frown upon relationships and partners you bring home not only age. You can't please everyone and by the end of the day it's your relationship, your life and your happiness and if your family has a bit of cop on they see that and embrace it or if not you learn to live and deal with it. |

I was at a wedding in October where the groom was 35 and the bride was 28. That's fair enough. But they started going out when he was 21 and she was 14. That's wrong. Brides brother didn't speak your the groom until the last few years. |
