No mechanic here will know because it could be a number of things. You need to go to a garage to read the fault code which will tell them exactly what's wrong

Well pretty much the same thing. The car won't run or drive with that fault. It's a safety programme that activates when it detects a fault in the engine. MighT be serious. Might be an electronic fault. You'll need to get a diagnostic check done

You need a bigger garage with a diagnostic comp to read the fault and tell you what it is. Seat dealership b best but any decent garage will do

Advance tyres have that diagnostic equipment but they will just charge you then refer you to a vw or seat garage. Do NOT go to Brady in castlenock. Rip off merchants

You may need to go to a main dealer.

What age is the car and make.

At a guess I'd say a 2007 Seat Ibiza. That's just a wild guess though.

Put a carbon cleaner in through your air filter, they cost around a fiver and may sort the problem. It won't turn the engine light off but it will clear the engine and turn the limp mode off giving you back full power. I had to do it on my jeep a while back.

I have a 02 Seat Ibiza. Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. EPC stands for "electronic pedal control", if memory serves, and because its to do with the accelerator I'm sure thats why it cuts the engine for safety.

Cheap ol' me with my cheap ol' car just let it sit for a half hour or so (while calling mechanics) and it was fine again after. No EPC light or anything.

No clue what made it throw a tantrum like that but it hasnt happened since and I've had no noticble problems with the car.

Hope yours works out this way and saves you a few bob

As dumb as it sounds it could be something as simple as a break light buld not working. It will put the car into a safe mode. What will cause the same problems your having best thing to do is get it pulged into a fault reader. If your any way close to me .. mail me i can get it done at a lot less them a main dealer hope this helps

Remove the negative lead from battery terminal for 10 seconds , reconnect . Should wipe the fault code if it was a blimp

If the light comes back on. Get diagnostic

Ohh don't leave the keys in the car when performing this as sometimes it activates the CL

Some people are say it could be the brake peddle switch. If it is that the brake light will be on all the time.
