Hi Aoife.
Try and remind yourself it's only another day and yes it is hyped up way too much and people put a lot of pressure on themselves.
Stop doing the ironing, treat yourself to something nice, watch a good film and ring someone to catch up.
Avoid too much alcohol and have a good night's sleep.
Make plans to meet family and friends tomorrow. Enjoy the quite time because before you know it you will be back in the rat race. |

My favourite part of Christmas Day is when I get to go home to my empty apartment. I love peace and quiet so Christmas Day is always too hectic for me. I do my duty and spend most of the day in the family home, breakfast, dinner and hanging around for a few hours, and it is nice but I love when it around 5 or 6pm and I get to come home.
I'm actually home alone now watching.......Home Alone, eating chocolates and crisps and couldn't be happier. Have a few Heinekens in the fridge for later so will relax and watch some movies for the night.
I'm not too keen on Christmas Day but love Christmas Night . |

First Christmas in my own house
First Christmas single
First Christmas were I gave my son everything he wanted and I got nothing
First Christmas I did what I wanted when I wanted no stress no drama
There is always a silver lining in every thing
Smile things could be Alot worse

Your night sounds pretty good, enjoy. Lonliness can happen in a house full of family too. |

I'm home a lone now , worked this morning till 1 then went to my son's dad's house for dinner with him and my son .. Mr. grumpy , boy am I glad I'm single couldn't wait to get home . Pjs on , few movies box of chocolates and my dog. There's a lot of people who are a lone for Christmas it's a very sad time of the year . I don't have any family at all and know so many who moan a bout their families , they should count their blessings for having a family I say.. merry Christmas everyone x |

Don't get me wrong, it's nice spending the time with the family but I've always been the type of person who needs peace and quiet after socializing. I love coming home to an empty home when it's all done. I love people and company but not all the time . I don't have to get away to get away. Probably why I love living the single life . |

Kids gone to their father's for the day.
My neighbour insists on me having dinner with them, always feel like a 3rd wheel but they have a good heart.
Back home now, in the pjs and flicking thru the channels for movies. Love my own space |

It can be tough being on your own and hard to get through the day.
But its behind you now so you can move on hopefully.
Have done it didnt like it but survived it...
May your 2017 be easier for you. |
