Christmas Day alone
Jump to: Newest in thread
We were chatting last night about people who are spending Christmas Day alone.
Would it be an idea for guys & girls here who for whatever reason have no one to share their Christmas dinner with, to connect with a fellow fabber here and organise something.
I am not suggesting a play meeting, just to have company on this day above all others
Maybe our idea might cheer someone up.
Merry Christmas to you all.. |

Brilliant idea, we put it on our social media profile every Xmas, where our house is open to all on Xmas day, while it is a happy time for some it can be terrible lonely for others |

"Ive been thinking the same all week, I think it would be a great idea I hate to think of anyone alone for Xmas "
I being on my own for the day - will be home alone the next couple of days & I'm looking forward to it
But I can understand how others might not feel the same. |

Fantastic idea No one should be alone at Christmas and even just a smile and a hello can make all the difference , spare a thought for those less fortunate because just for the grace of god it could be any of us

Well said man. Almost every one of us has had a dark and lonely hour in our lives, so it's nice to reach out and be there even for at least one other person over the festive season. I know I've been a sarcastic git at times on the forums, but believe in my heart and soul that:
"A few words of encouragement can set someone up for life"
Have a great Christmas everyone |

Being a English man whose been living here a fair while I've grown to like the hassle free Christmas. Not having to worry about upsetting others as my plans don't align to there's.
I'll buzz the family on Christmas day. Wish them well. And ive almost mastered the Christmas dinner for one.
But others see this weird. Don't knock it till you try it.
Unless one of you sexy ladies wants to come get d*unk with me and post crap on here |

I bumped into an ex student. Always a problem when he was at school but lovable. He has lost so much weight and asked him what's his plans for xmas. He said he had none so ended up inviting him to the family crazy going on at ours. He doesn't know what will hit him....between the nieces and the rat( the dog) he will be pestered |

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I spent christmas almost totally alone a few years ago. I'm ok with being alone and while I didn't feel too lonely and I enjoyed it, it did feel a little weird.
The one advantage was I didn't have to answer to anyone, I could eat and drink and watch whatever I liked. Bliss. |

I've been in this country nearly 20yrs, and always spent Christmas here.
Since the divorce my ex has taken the children for Christmas Day.
I've learnt to just enjoy my alone time and make the most of it.

You can be cynical about fab by times but this is a genuinely uplifting heart warming thread that very much shows the goodness of people.
Well done to everyone and a merry Christmas however you celebrate it! |

I.done Xmas day a few years ago on my own after I separated, I'm not a fan of Xmas anyway but I don't think I'd like to have one on my own again.
It was a personal choice that year and I had family less than an hour away.
If folk want to be alone respect them.
It's a tough time of year . |

It's not about those alone by choice, as we have said previously, who said anything about not respecting people's choices?
It is purely about a person who is alone and would prefer company.
Anyway, Merry Christmas... |

Am separated , feel bad for my youngish kids they with their mom for Christmas , they see their friends having Xmas day dinner with their parents .
Will put on fire early tomorrow , turn on telly, and drink myself into a state and hopefully fall asleep and wake up Stephens day. |

Hey, for what it's worth, there are worse off. Might not be much consolation, but I really don't know how to reply, my heart genuinely goes out to you. |

Looking at your veris you seem to be a popular gent with game, charisma and charm. Look, what more could a male Fabber wish for here?!
I think tomorrow could be an opportunity to text, talk or skype a few old mates either here or abroad.
look, you never know what's around the corner so keep your head up and your shoulders back. Hope you have a fun filled, fab filled rest of 2016 mate |

We echo this!!
Take a couple of hours to make contact with old friends, you'll be surprised by their positive reaction. Above all keep the spirits up, and know tomorrow can always be better.. |

I usually spend Christmas on my own each year and bring dinner out to the Polish lad next door he's on his own and this year I invited my mum to stay, anyway it's all gone Tits up I'm cooking up a storm all day in the kitchen next thing I get a phone call my mum's gone to hospital with a stroke, next then the lad next door texts to say he's gone away for a few days won't be here for dinner tomorrow and then world war 8 starts with my sister as ususal. in future I'll just keep to myself ....it's safer..and less hassle what a disaster I'll be eating turkey and ham for 6mths |
