Maybe its me but....
I have a habit of generally being polite to people, and encouraging. If someone is chatting to me, expressing an interest in meeting, I will encourage that. Not annoyingly I dont think, but encourage.
Recently was meeting a pal of mine and invited another girl along. She told me she couldnt because she had promised another guy a meet and the dates clashed.
She then complained the other guy only wanted to meet for a few hours and this annoyed her because she wanted longer. Short hotel meets made her feel "cheap".
I said well ok, but if you want to meet us too, we are spending the night in a hotel etc.
She said no,she had promised your man. I said fine.
She then texted me to say that he had stopped contact and she wasnt meeting. I said great you are free to meet us so.
She said no, wasnt meeting, staying at home, mope mope.
This is a not infrequent experience.
It seems that people put more store into others that are difficult to meet, cancel, mess about than genuine people who just want to get on with fun.
Is the Treat them Mean, keep them keen the way to go? |
