A thread was started here about a fake profile constantly asking a certain member to meet at his or in not so public places and other stalking-ish behaviour, and about trouble she had with stalkers in the past. I thought it was interesting, informative and important thread, especially for newbies who would not be so used to sniffing out the fakes on here and I will add, every other site like this. While fake profiles are frightfully annoying, but may be harmless but more importantly, they may not be. Most single ladies and couples have had problems with fakes, weirdos stalkers and even blackmailers on this and other sites. This is not a reflection on how well or not the site is run, but it is in everyone's interest, especially the sites that this information is available to new members. Though This certain members thread and the comments about a certain alleged member may not have shown that the clientele of the site are not all upstanding pillars of the community, but all of us on here are fully aware of that, but I do believe that threads like this a vital for new people entering the scene. I refused to meet a guy at his home and met for what I thought was going to be a coffee in a cafe. He jumped into my car in the car park. We have had fake profiles trying to catch us out for face pics and when we tell them we don't send them the profile will be no longer on site
So just always be careful who you talk to.. | |||
