Hi, new to fab and forums. Just wondering if this is a common thing. I ask men if they can accommodate at their homes, seeing as they have it on their profiles, but they say,no, in a hotel.
But in that case anyone 'can accomodate'?? It seems to be one attached guys use a lot.
I am just confused by this, among other things. (Like the straight guys with veris from Tvs, but that's a whole other thread lol) |

Eh, I am talking about guys who say they can accommodate. It's misleading when they really mean they can book a hotel room. |

Welcome to fab, the site of fun, double standards and contradictions. Yes there are a good amount of 'attached single' people. If that's not your thing, just move to the next. There are single single too. People cannot provide accommodation for different reasons, not only because the partner doesn't know ie sharing, living with kids, living with parents etc. Theoretically you could argue he provides accommodation with a hotel room given he's organising and paying for it. Comes with pros and cons. |

As DH says above, there are plenty of reasons why a male would accommodate in a hotel room, just as a woman might choose to, not least the issue of safety, not everyone wants to disclose their address to a stranger picked up on the internet. |

It's just extra work isn't it. I get chatting to a guy. I don't want to go sneaking around with attached guys, he says 'can accommodate', I think OK, he must be single. Then after chatting for a bit I discover he can accommodate - in a hotel because he is actually married. Very dishonest behavior. I just ask outright from the start now. |

Typically, we find use of the word "discreet" to be the giveaway... |

watch out for the ones who say can accom , meention a hotel room and then expect you to book and pay for it citing excuses about not wanting to leave a trail on their credit card , they rarely stump up their half of the room . |

Yes, but don't you think it's dishonest for a person to put that he can accommodate when he can't?
I am probably coming across as very innocent to all you hardened swingers, it's all new to me, I am naive. |

I doubt someone who is lying to their life partner is going to lose sleep over being dishonest with strangers, besides, he can accommodate - in a hotel room.

You're not naive, it's a tough world on here, sharpen all your senses and listen to your gut feeling and you'll have a sharp and quick learning curve, get the hang of it and hopefully plenty of fun. There are plenty of lovely gentlemen on here but it needs a bit of work to find the right ones |

You have to allow for people's privacy, if I see "can accommodate" I interpret that as most likely being a hotel tbh
In actual fact I would probably request it, as said earlier I would really need to know someone well before I let them into my home and by defacto into my real world
There are just way to many headbangers on tinternet OP
If I were female I would probably insist on neutral ground ala a hotel.
Welcome to fab btw. It can be a great place but rule 101 look after you 1st |

What's the point in having the 'can' and 'can not' accommodate options then? In that case everyone can accommodate if it's a matter of booking a hotel. |

Would have to agree with OP, can accommodate means a house, apt, flat etc... Probably best if profile stated you prefer hotel meets but "can accommodate" definitely means you have got your own place. Makes no sense otherwise. |

In my opinion, No! accommodate doesn't mean I will invite you into my home - means you are willing to accommodate in some way, might be a home might be friends home might be a hotel or rented apartment or yes as some have stated transit ban on a side road lol
I doubt anyone genuinely takes this into consideration when setting up the profile - I know I didn't. If you wanna meet you'll make it happen some how.

Interesting point about not taking it into consideration when setting profile . I always assume cannot accom on a profile usually equates to I'm married or attached and she doesn't know and so I just ignore the profile . Might be a point for the guys to consider maybe other ladies assume similar . |

"Obfuscation is a unique human skill, after all. Now you have me googling!
Google "accommodate" while youre at it "
I can speak in common straightforward talk rational to my thinking. If you could think that way also you wouldn't be put out by my opinion. |

Ooh!, haven't come across this yet. Personally I wouldn't care, his home, a hotel room, I suppose his home may be a little more comfortable, especially for him but I do know I wouldn't be paying half for a hotel if he offered accommodation.
Welcome OP, good start. |

"It's the ones who say that they can neither travel nor accommodate who really get me. "
Yep, same here, but I also get what the OP is saying.
Welcome op, good reading here! |

Why? They may be willing to pay for a hotel but that's not classed as accommodating apparently.

Haven't read all the above as time/efficiency doesn't permit.
Firstly, welcome to Fab OP and hope you have a brilliant time as a result of joining.
My perspective - as per profile, married to a non-Fabber, so no, not accommodating, as per profile. However, I would expect that any meet would be fully discussed between potential play partners in advance, so accommodation status should be almost irrelevant at that point, be it hotel/home/elsewhere.
PS love your pic OP and I reckon accommodation will be the least of your worries
Happy Fabbing |

"Eh...I have to admit 'can accommodate' is one of the things that draws me to a profile.
I like repeat meets and paying for hotels can be costly."
I know, you're gonna shoot me but, from a Cannot accommodate, Cannot travel person
As I rush off to check my profile for similar faux pas! |

"Interesting point about not taking it into consideration when setting profile . I always assume cannot accom on a profile usually equates to I'm married or attached and she doesn't know and so I just ignore the profile . Might be a point for the guys to consider maybe other ladies assume similar . "

"'Cannot travel' simply means I stick to Dublin
Cool, thx for clarification. Great place, especially with you in it
I need to stop the beers before I'm banned/blocked!"
I'm half way through the bottle of vino so you're forgiven |

"It's just extra work isn't it.
Typically, we find use of the word "discreet" to be the giveaway..."
That explains a lot...I'm discreet and single!..

I have cannot accom as my son lives with me. And cannot travel as I have no car.
First meet on my home ground ( I don't actually force anyone to trek up here) - if theres a 2nd meet I'm happy to meet anywhere on a bus route |
