Yep...even though this is just a site to find someone to shag, I still am totally put off by the things you've outlined I can forgive a bit of bad spelling and grammar but I can't get over the amount of adults on here who use txt spk and/or no punctuation in their profile and messages! |

Learning disabilities aside, anyone using this site, via either smartphone or laptop has all the letters of the alphabet at their disposal. Barring the odd typo or silly autocorrect, ne1 who typs lik dis is just lazy.
I'd nearly say it makes you look like a teenager, but I don't think the current generation of teens write like that. |

I was talking to someone on here and it wasn't text speak just really awful spelling and grammar. I'll be very honest here from the first message I dismissed this person as basically a dumb fuck and looked down on them which absolutely disgusts me now. This person apologised and said it really embarrassed them and that it was never their strong point. Anyway we met and this person was great. In fact we met lot's. After a while I could see past all the grammar mistakes and it didn't bother me.
Laziness with txt speak is one thing but some really struggle. |

I agree totally. Was messaging a guy who used txt speak and thought ... this guy is an eejit. Decided to meet anyway, and he was such a nice guy. FYI .. Sex was good too |

Mines brutal so other people's doesn't bother me plus I don't do written tests at coffee meets so I don't see the need to check for commas and full stops in people's messages. |

Does it bother me? Yes, in that I like things written properly. Would it put me off? No, because I know my grammar isn't perfect, and after all it's just words on a screen, not any kind of indication of the actual person writing them. There are loads of reasons people don't spell the way I'd like them to, and really none of them are my business at all. |

Spelling and grammer r things I have struggled with all my life. And now I have a daughter with the same challenge.. She was called a thicko by another child recently.
Sometimes we don't see the mistakes even with spell check. And if u go over and over the txt to check it can ruin the flow.
It's not nice to be judged for this but ur bloody loss if ur so small minded ...
Sorry im a bit cross |

To be honest the spelling I can kind of forgive as I've on more than one occasion fallen victim to auto correct but when I see text speak or unnecessary abbreviations I just hate it |

Constant and deliberate 'text talk' grinds my gears a bit to be honest but as said some people can just struggle with general spelling and grammar; we're all guilty of the odd mistake here and there.
If someone used "there" instead of "their" (shock horror!! ) it would be the person who felt the need to correct them, despite knowing what they meant, that I would be put off. |

The people who constantly feel the need to correct other's on how they speak or text would annoy me more the anything else. You can't judge someone by a text. |

Agreed, I actually think it's rude to publicly point out someone's mistakes like that. I'm a total grammar nazi but that's just an internal thing that happens, I would never publicly ridicule an individual like some on here do |

"C'est le ton qui fait la musique, not the grammar, as long as it makes sense and is understandable..."
zactly, you get a feel from wots written about weather or knot the person's making an effort... I used to be fastidious about grammar on swing sites and I must admit it got us laid a few times but quite a lot of people on here are not native English speakers and/or dyslexic yet still mega-hot and fun... so you have to allow a lot of leeway... but lack of effort sticks out like a sore thumb and is a big turn-off. |

Yes nothing more of a turn off than people using text speak and having a reading/writing age of a Sun/Daily Mail reader.
Utterly grammerly, the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit! |
