If you know anyone who is feeling down or depressed give them a hug and lend them your support. Tonight i learned of a very special young lad who i befriended and always tried to encourage, threw himself of a bridge and was killed by the cars below. Devastating. RIP wee lad from your mate

Sorry to hear that story...

There's very little in this life that anyone can't walk away from and just say "fuck it"...

It's just a pity people can't see it...

Sad to hear that , unfortunately when someone is that low they can't see any way out, they aren't thinking rationally anymore!!

So sorry to hear of your friend Op. People can view the world as ugly and a place where they dont want to be anymore. The only way out for them is to take their own lives.

Depression and loneliness are top of the list as to why people commit suicide. Feeling isolated or disconnected from the community or being unable to talk to family or friends can affect mental well-being.

I actually dont get why theres so much awareness is placed on personal hygiene and dental hygiene but very little is focused on mental hygiene When i say mental hygiene , i mean it as a practise to recognise that help is needed and being unafraid to seek the help. Or for family and friends to recognise when something is wrong. Being mindful of those around you is all it takes to help them ,help themselves. The biggest stigma around seeking help is " what will people think", "will they think im mad in my head".

Its a sad state of affairs in this day and age

So sad, sorry to hear about that, sounds like he had a good friend in you. We all need to have someone who will throw an arm around you and say, hey you know what in the bigger scheme of things that doesn't matter. Sounds like you were that to him.

Fair play, stay strong.
