Hi guys,

I wonder if any of youse can give some tips please.

Myself and a mate are going to the darts final on Saturday. We're staying near the City West Hotel, where it's being played, from Friday till Monday and was wondering if any of you guys knows the area. Everytime I visit Dublin I always end up in Temple bar, I do love it round there but know how expensive it is and as we're quite a distance away, what with the price of taxi's I'd imagine it'd be a very expensive night out lol Are there any good pubs/clubs nearby that any of you could recommend please.

Many thanks

Mid Meath

Pubs in and close to there? Not that many, to be honest. The Poitin Stil in Rathcoole springs to mind or go into Tallaght or Clondalkin for a bit more choice but not a lot more, tell the truth.

You could consider getting a Nitelink back most of the way to your hotel and a taxi for the last leg.

Thanks for the link

I was thinking it was a bit remote lol

I thought I was being clever in booking a hotel right next to the venue but in hindsight I should have booked a hotel in the city and just made our way to the darts venue on the Saturday night lol

The darts crowds always look ready for a party, won't they be having the craic at the venue?

We shall stay at the venue with the darts crowd on Saturday night for sure, we just need to find places to go for Friday & Sunday nights

.....

I'll be at the darts on Saturday, first time. Should be a good night. There are loads of smaller pubs around the Dame lane/Exchequer street area. Depends on what you're looking for but that's where we always start off

Nice one mate I think that's where we'll start off aswell lol

You'll love it, I've been to the Ally Pally these last few years and absolutely love it. I actually went to see about tickets for Ally Pally this year on their site the day they were being sold (knowing they'd be sold out in minutes) and I just happened to notice this tournament and tickets available. My mate has never been to the darts so I just had to book them lol. Darts, Dublin, sesh, what more do you need
