Forum thread cross contamination...

It was raised last night that it's becoming a bit of a pain that topics from some threads are spilling over into others - particularly where the subject matter is regarded as silly - and the original thread gets hijacked or diminished as a result.

Now I don't see too much wrong and sometimes if done well it can be quite humorous, however I can understand the frustration.

What does everyone else think.? Is this an annoying problem that we should all take a more responsible approach to..? (Serious question, not a p*ss take)

Having an in joke/bants is harmless on a dead thread but if the jokers are deliberately going on to other threads to continue it then it starts being disruptive.

And really annoying.

It's like Police Academy; the first one got a few laughs and giggles and so people decided to cash in and selfishly inflict eye sore after eye sore upon the public.

It's one thing to have a private joke with posters and another to antagonise; which is what I believe is happening recently.

I'm the last person to complain and a firm believer in "if you don't like it, don't read it" on here but some make that incredibly difficult by taking their nonsense to every second thread.

It's not humerous in my opinion. It's cringeworthy, annoying and a tad selfish. Just my two cents

So far that would seem to suggest it's a problem and something to be frowned upon if not actively discouraged...

That probably sums it up best imo.

Every thread doesn't suit everybody.

Every post doesn't suit everybody.

Cringey to me may not be cringey to somebody else.

Don't take it too seriously.

I see threads and think wtf but I don't comment on them.

Many see my posts and think wtf.

Its not gonna change.... ever

That's a good way to look at it. I think his comes down to a difference in people's personalities and perhaps what is going on in a persons life at that time...?

You just have to surf the wave of shitposting until you reach the shore of decent discussion.

I'm here three years and the forum has always been like this.

When a forum is lightly moderated in this regard you just hurts deal with it,cos it ain't changing any time soon.
