My Irish has always been woefully bad, but I do have "Gaelic, mother tongue" as languages spoken on my CV, but that's another story,
The only thing I learned down the Gealtacht was "Tuigim" (I inderstand) even though I hadn't a clue what was been said. "tuigim and "sha" thats all I got, but I'm not surprised I didn't get much more, I was sent home after a week and a half
A hiding with the wooden spoon and having to spend the rest of the summer holidays at my Da's was my punishment on that occasion. |
