Going to our first this Saturday. Both of us are really looking forward to it. Mixture of excitement and nerves.we all have ideas of what it will be like . So what was your first like? Was it like what you expected ? |

Ahh..love the build up...its part of the whole experience. .my first party I went as a single guy..I vaguely knew one girl. .but there was 10other people. .whom I never met. .I was very very lucky that they were all brilliant to me ..so it was such a positive experience. .go with an open mind and a smile on you're face.. |

great that your experience was positive and we would hope and expect people to be open and friendly. Oh we will be going with a smile on our face lol.

My first party was at the Venue, like yours will be.
The hosts are amazing and will put you right at ease.
I went to my first one by myself and loved it.
I was nervous but had such a blast.
Go to the pre drinks, get to know a few people before you head over.
We will be there early if you want to meet up and put your nerves at ease send us a pm. |

"I'll agree with the pre drinks, I've been to the venue a few times but the last time was the first one drinks I attended. It really help break the ice and it topped all the previous times there. "

You'll be fine . The hosts are lovely and you'll get to meet most attending at the pre drinks. Join the kik group if you haven't already and you can chat to a few before hand |

The first event we went to was an impromptu social here in Athlone and there was a massive mix of nerves & excitement!
Agree with JM (who I think we met at that first social actually!) that you guys should try get to the pre social drinks. Great way of introducing yourselves outside the larger social. There's usually a few larger than life characters that helps everyone settle down & have the craic!
