Would you ?
I was walking on Grafton street today and saw a woman comng towards me .. I stopped as she walked closer and past me .. I've never seen a more gorgeous looking person. Here's the thing, she was older than me and obviously married. I didn't have the balls to go back and say to her what I thought .. Not as a pick up line but just to say it ... What do you fabbers think ... Would you say it .. Might make someone's day etc .. Or is it just stupid |

What would you even be praising the person for? Hi, your genetic makeup seems to have created the right balance of symmetry, so when the light from the sun reflects off you into my retinas a release of dopamine prompts me to relay this message to you...

Once had a guy approach me in the supermarket. Firstly he apologized for being forward, but then said he had to comment because I have beautiful eyes and they caught his attention.
He then said he hoped I had a lovely day and walked away.
I just felt it was weirdly random but I'll admit he put a smile on my face. Gave me a bit of a boost too coz I was actually having a shit day up to that point.

I've had strangers compliment me in shops and pubs. Commenting on my dress ,hair whatever. It never bothered me. In fact it's nice to hear something nice from someone you don't know for no reason. Not everyone has an ulterior motive.
I've also done the same. Nothing better than putting a smile on someone's face just because you can |

I love GG69's compliment, that would have made me giggle.
I don't think I'd like to have someone run after me and say it but I've had people say things to me that I was dealing with in shops or bars and it certainly made me feel good! |

Exactly, there's a difference between a compliment from someone with whom you are already interacting, and being approached by a total stranger in the street. Be mindful that people may have in the past been subjected to an incident of that nature which wasn't quite so innocently intended. |

I don't think the OP was suggesting he was going to run IP to her and roar cor look at the tits on you you fucking ride. Slap her are and run away. But you can form your own opinions and are obviously a very negative person. |

I've given random compliments. Results generally nice and positive but sometimes quizzical and confused. Have to be given and received in the right way though and trick is to give the complinent and leave. Never linger!

That would be a dereliction of the scientific method... All theories need to be validated in the real world |

I've often told women in shops I love their dresses/tops/hair. It's happened to me a couple of times too. Usually my hair gets compliments. It's a lovely thing to happen |

There's context to that though, that's just being nice to someone you're chatting to. The OP seemed to be asking is it ok to stop someone in the street to compliment their looks... No context there |
