Is it me or does it feel like it's separated into clique and non-clique? If you're not in the clique you don't get any kind of acknowledgement/response.
The longer I'm here the more it begins to feel like a secondary school.

I suppose I'm comparing it to the Scottish and General room.
When I entered both of those it was friendliness and welcome to the site from the beginning whereas the Irish room just had about 6/7 people chatting among themselves and ignored everyone else. |

Always get that vibe when I've popped in to have a look although to be fair I never really join in. I usually just have a nosey. Always find there is too much noise in there to have a coherent conversation. Probably good for a laugh and the craic though. |

I use the Irish chat room alot and I am always friendly to people that come in! There are a lot of regular chat users who know each other and would be chatting amongst themselves but just join in and chat away, spark up a conversation with someone, we are all friendly, well for the most part!

I popped in a few times when I first joined and felt it a bit like a few regulars chatting to themselves and obviously on their own wavelength, I felt like a gooseberry....I'm sure if I'd been a female I might have been made more welcome. Chat rooms are in themselves generally a group who know each other and want to chat in a familiar group. Some are comfortable with that others better one to one. |

I pop in every now and then and the only reason I don't don't more is because I'm a day dreamer and never keep up with the conversation. It's a good laugh and I've always been made feel very welcome. As most have already said you get out what you put in |

I much prefer the chat to the forums. Its way more interactive.
Turn the pms off if you a newbie to it and just join in as much as you can.
A day or so and you will have the hang of it.
And yes some of us know each other but i talk to anyone and everyone and there are lots like that in there.
Always good to see new faces.

This.
The lady holding court is usually the one with her tits out on cam.
No problem with it. Each to their own. Not for me though... |

Haha I know what you mean, sometimes I am there and banter flows but majority of the time I'm ignored too, having cam on helps.
But I only enter the Irish chat to find Irish members , for fun and flirting bi chat room is the one I find more fun and for checking talent it's the directing rooms |

The stuff you were saying the other day when we were there no one was going to chat to you. What do you expect. A lot of people ended up blocking you over this so they couldn't see your posts anymore. Mabey this is why there not chatting to you. Just an option here.

What are you talking about? You mean when the guy was talking on the video and I was replying in the chat? and then one guy called me an idiot and another said I was asking personal questions lol.
That was hilarious, I was bantering with a Scottish guy about Scotland being useless and he was asking me Q's and I was asking him the same.
One person even admitted they weren't listening to him speak on cam so it looked far worse seeing one side.
I then apologised for all my text on the chat and wasn't actually able to pm at the time.
It was fine and dandy when your chat was all over it but there was an issue because you couldn't see your conversation over mine.
Two people emailed me to apologise for making comments without realising it was banter between me and the guy but thanks for your input. |

Used to use the chat room a lot the last time I was here. This time it just seems a little dead anytime I've been in it, so havent really been bothered. |

Hence why it seems cliquey to me, you can all spam it with your conversation amongst 5 of you (20 people in the room) and the second someone else was talks more where it became difficult to see YOUR conversation, they need to express their dissatisfaction.
Apologies, cocks and flirting was obviously more important than us having a laugh.

I'm no victim. It's the truth and everybody knows it. A few women on a power trip and a few spineless guys sucking up to them afraid they won't get meets. I'm my own person and don't need to suck up to anyone to get a meet. "
Looking back on it, that sums it up right there. If you're not licking arse you're not worth a hello. |

I use the chatroom regularly.
Please bear in mind that during school holiday season, a lot of the folks don't get chance to pop in for a natter - due to Parenthood Club duties.
Plenty folks know each other well, because we attend the socials run by some of the members here. That is not a 'clique' - that's called Friendships.
Drop in, say hiya if you see me lurkin' - we really don't bite - even if you ask nicely!

There's lots of "how's it going,"but never know if the whisper thing is a good plan, should you, shouldn't you. If you don't it's very difficult to have a conversation. Will persevere and annoy |

I wouldn't whisper at anyone without asking them first. You have to be prepared to join in on the general conversation before you hope to get a private one.
Its kinda like walking into a bar and trying to whisper into some strangers ear. It probably wouldnt end well there either.
Chat quieter at the min with the hoildays but will probably pick up again in the next couple of weeks.
Pop in a few times and say hi. You never know who you might meet. |

Maybe a little bit of a clique but over all I find it friendly. I use the irish chat room often and nearly all my meets have been from people I've met on there.
Yes when my cam is on(face only) I do get a lot of people starting a conversation with me. I don't put my cam on to try rule the roost I like to see others on cam and its only fair mine is on
I always welcome people who come on and block the idiots. |

I use the room mostly to pm friends... sorry if I appear to ignore anyone who wants a long getting-to-know-you chat but it moves too fast for that and I miss some of it or I'm on a kindle and can't chat on both windows!
IfI have cam on its primarily for the person I'm in pm with... if others look at it that's grand, I try and say thanks if complimented, and if friends want to have a bit of craic with cams then happy days! I'm not sure that equates holding court?
We all started somewhere, and we can't please all of the people all of the time

You are, of course, aware, Kieran, that this - and the other 'irish chatroom' chat is over one year old?
That does not mean that you should not be chatting in said room. The more, the merrier, it's quite quiet on there a lot of times, even though people are in. |

The disparate threads on the Forum are infinitely better than the chatrooms including Irish version.
The chat, in my opinion, is too shallow, ephemeral and franly 'juvenile'.
The contributors to forum tend to put a considerable amount of thought into the replies, although topics can be somewhat 'puzzling'
