calling all admin!!!!

A black mail thread went up today and I personally would like to think that Admin will tackle this appropriately but have received a message saying that Admin have previously advised a fabber to use the filters to block an unverified, no doubt fake profile that was black mailing a fabber awhile ago! I think this isn't good enough and maybe if Admin came down harder on this despicable kind of behaviour then it's less likely to reoccur! I get that there are thousands of people on fab but we joined a site that is monitored for a reason, our privacy. Fab should be about discretion and privacy so why are admin not beating that drum the loudest. Prove me wrong on this one admin. What do you think fabbers? Be nice but more importantly be honest as admin needs honest feedback on this subject. |

I'm not quite sure what they can do.
They could delete the account if they are given proof of the blackmail - but I'm pretty sure a new account would be made within minutes |

When someone send mail on site threating a user then site can do alot more... you can prove by screenshot mail has been sent and site owners can then give relevant information to appropriate authorities like IP Address of account etc for threat to be dealt with appropriately.. |

Admin monitor and control the behaviour of the site user's. They have a sequence of events that will happen if you break the rules and are all over that, rightly so. How is a black mailer not admonished more severely! This is not the fault of the person who was being black mailed, yes we need to be careful but bloody hell...we all need our privacy too. |

Yes but the more active accounts the better from a sales perspective. Site traffic and accounts are a commodity. It's not in the commercial interests of the site owners to make signing up difficult. |

That blackmail is going on a lot longer that recently it's not first time that couple/male profile has brought it to the forums.
It's been done on me a year or so ago in end I called his bluff and blocked he's since apologised. I've another creep who comes back verified every so often to call me a slut because I wouldn't meet him here and I dated him before.
They're not all trolls they come back and thing is it's usually personal or a control kick. All can be done is blocked and reported |

Agree with a fee if it worked and was monitored properly to ensure people behaved respectfully of other users and maybe an email account and payment through a bank card so only admin have your details...it would eliminate ignorant behaviour in my opinion |

If a User is reported, then Admin have a duty to investigate. If they find evidence of blackmail in communication between members in Fab messages, they can act, by blocking/removing and possibly providing police all they have found.
However, if the blackmail is not in evidence in Fab messages, then there is little or nothing admin can do I'm afraid. If they were to take action, because of a complaint, without evidence of same, that would be a worse scenario for all of us. |

Take to Garda as well.
On the IP addresss thought it's not hard to hid that by using van apps which reroute. ..Very common now unfortunately especially for this sort of thing. |

As you say though, that's how most other sites are run. If someone equates payment to more security then there are other sites to choose from.
It may seem fair to assume that making payment mandatory will out those with fake or multiple profiles but you risk losing, for lack of a better word, genuine members who just prefer not to pay.
It's as much a preference as anything else on the site if someone wishes to be a site supporter and the fact Fab make it optional is just as appealing to genuine swingers as it may be to timewasters.
Also, you can't underestimate the determination and visciousness of those who stoop as low as blackmail and the like, a few quid won't be much of a deterrent.
There's unfortunately just those types of people in all walks of life, not just online or exclusive to here. |

Total bs to keep blaming the newbies. Well verified people make up fake profiles to be utter cunts. It really is that simple. .....it only looks like newbies who cause trouble. Its actually the same trolls who get banned and make a new profile instantly. Or already have a few "cooking". One of them creeps actually contacted us on three different profiles in the one day. But look on the bright side, their only onsite with us...imagine living next door to someone like that. .
