What I can't understand is how bookies still allow betting on a sport that's clearly completely corrupt. It seems nearly every fight is fixed, so unless they are the ones controlling the fix. It makes no sense to accept bets on it, yet they do. |

Corruption in Olympic boxing is nothing new... Roy Jones Jr floored his Seoul opponents(in Seoul) only to be robbed. Same with Mayweather Jr getting a bronze. These guys went on to do okay as pro's, so if they can, so can Conlon... Just pity da fool that has to face that angry fella  |

Its hard to believe that result!!
He spoke well after the fight and fair play to RTE for not censoring his opinion.
How can you land 10 more scoring punches in a round than your opponent and yet lose the round? Its beyond me.
Amateur boxing has always been corrupt but to be cheated at that level beggars belief!! It seems the Irish boxers biggest fight was against faceless corruption and not their opponents.
I just hope Michael can rise above this and continue with his promising boxing career.
In my eyes and othrr fair and just people, he won the fight and remains a credit to the boxing fraternity. |

Both he and Nardiello in the '88 Olympics against the same opponent, unsurprisingly.
Three judges were suspended and another admitted to scoring it unfairly as to not embarrass South Korea but an IOC investigation found no evidence of corruption  |

Katies was 50/50 but conlons was daylight robbery..a split decision me hole..conlon hit him 90 times to the Russians 60 in response.. thats a clear win for Conlon..the judges are either blind or have been bribed..I'd the latter is the truth..Russia and corruption go hand in hand |

Apparently a wee school boy iffered Mick his medal because he never won one. He told reporters that he wanted Mick to have it cause he's still his hero.
