Yeah.. and while they're at it ban anything to do with slavery, the famine, 1916, or anything devastating that could have possibly happened in the past. God forbid we learn anything from people who've made grave mistakes in the generations before us. |

Apparently they weren't meeting the minimum wage requirement and the elephants were tired of working for peanuts
Now where's the door... |

Its all file material used in the programme. ..film shot in the 60s and 70s. In those days it was deemed legally and socially acceptable to use wild animals in circuses. Thankfully it doesn't happen any more. And I doubt if showing images like this will result in a call to bring it back. If the op wants to indulge in self censorship ...change the channel. The rest of us are well capable of deciding what to watch on tv. I personally won't be watching it. |

Weren't all animals wild at one stage or another... society has always domesticated animals or tried to for their own purposes be it a zoo , a circus , a farm, a rodeo etc... Most animal keepers are very kind to them even if they are in captivity... just my tuppence |

It's part of history and I have no problem with it been shown, although I won't be watching it; not on principle, but because it doesn't interest me in the slightest.
It is a good thing though, that this sort of behaviour isn't tolerated much in our society any more. |
