"Why does mineral water that has trickled through mountains for centuries, have a use by date." Posted on COA's profile today

Because the plastic bottle that the water is in when you buy it erodes over a period of time.Most water is sold in plastic bottles, I know some is in glass bottles but not as much as is in plastic bottles.

Sorry to spoil that one on you LOL

its not that the bottle erodes its the fact that the bottle can get bacterial build-up, carcinogens leached from the plastic

It's purely down to sunlight...it reacts with the packaging that the water is contained in.

As for causing cancer, that's never been proven.

That said, most bottled water companies ate introducing more ecologically friendly packaging to not only sustain the life of the liquid but to help the ecco system too.
