Why do people do this so much on here....when i see a profile that just says verified as genuine im nearly more wary than i am with non verified profile...it gives me no security at all....whats the general thought on this, would you think theyre faked or just into keeping a little more privacy....anybody ever meet many on here that work their profole that way.

Yeah, they're all fake & hidden so you can't check who gave them.

It's a dark circle...

I hide mine and my summary as its no-one elses business who I've met.

I would display them if I wanted an invite to a party/club

Mine is hidden as I like privacy though if asked I will show it.

Some show all their verifs

Some show a few

Some show none

Some straight men show verifs from bi guys

Some women who def dont meet married men show verifs from married men

Its the very strange world of Fab!

Have met a few people who dont show them and prefer to be discreet.

Totally respect that as it is their privacy and some are defo more genuine then most.

You just have to learn to either trust people on here, or trust your own judgement when chatting to people you may be suspicious of.

Ours are hidden because it's nobody's business who we've met.If that's an issue for someone, then they are perfectly entitled to choose not to meet us.

I'm only suspicious of hidden veris if they only have one from months ago.

Or if they're verified very shortly after joining and that's hidden too.

Oops! I only have one and that was from a fab friend that i had met the last time i was on fab. Saying that, i hide it because the details are private. I see veri's simply. They confirm if you are genuine. If i feel a fabber is genuine to their profile, i will verify them. If not, i won't.

Never dream of asking people about putting a word in for me with others.

Infact i wouldnt even mention any one from comments on some ones profile, that would not be discreet.

Golden rule of swinging, dont mention anyones name or profile.

No i totally agree its personal preference by the way...and it would be more ones with summarys and verifications hidden that throw me off unless ive seen them on cam in the chat room, but id believe some above poters here that a lot with hidden veris are totally trustworthy, was just curious about it as i think the system is too easy to con here.

"Why do people do this so much on here....anybody ever meet many on here that work their profole that way."

I hide veris and summary because we have freedom of choice and I choose not to, for various reasons. Firstly, I am a very private person believe it or not, i blush and get embarrassed. I don't like the attention good or bad and drama that veris bring.

So simply my meets have met me based on their own judgement and not judged me from others opinions or on who I have met.

It works for me anyhow...

Well, I've just had a disturbing experience re verifications:

After a quick meet yesterday, the person demanded a verification. Then, later in the day kept annoying/harassing me for one.

And this morning, the person became abusive on threatening. I don't know what the person is planning ('just you wait and see', etc).

Totally uncalled for behaviour. Simply, there is no obligation to verify someone after a meeting.

Regardless, the abusive and threatening language goes against the most fundamental value in swinging, respect.

I've reported the profile, but folks, this is a lifestyle place, a playground. Not a bully-ground.

To all the good guys, be respectful and keep swinging, x.

See what verifications can attract...

I think they can be good for some and maybe others dont like the attention of it.

Very rare i would read peoples verifications, more interested in their profiles, then with who they have met.

Wouldnt be going through their verifications to see who they have met.

Would be more drawn to their profile and chatting to them myself.

Might read a few of the comments some times, if i got chattimg to them.

But i wouldnt set out reading comments on everyones profiles.

"Well, I've just had a disturbing experience re verifications:

"

Well, now, just an update.

This 'person' contacted me again last giving me another warning about verifying them. They actually threatened and did contact me on Facebook! (How on earth is that possible?!).

Why would they do that? I mentioned respect earlier, but this person is showing none of that.

I've met some great people here (they know who they are) and in clubs too. I don't intend to let this unfortunate experience dilute any future ones.

Suffice to say, just use kik in future, or continue to message via here.

Any point reporting this person?

Thanks

They must be desperate for a verification to go to some vendictive lengths.

Would you not send them just a quick non descriptive veri, just to get them off your case, as it might get the nutter off your back.

I know a lot wont agree with that, but it could help you from further abuse...

I don't think there is any point in reporting them here. People like this are just about smart enough to do their threatening away from the site.

But if the person is desaperate to stalk some one on facebook then better off not.

Cant imagine why anyone would think its ok to look up and contact anyone here on facebook.

I have a nasty feeling if you give your phone number then that allows a search that can lead to face book.

Which is why when I see "no kik " I just whistle on by. Kik is safe and seperate. You can do real time camera pics to prove it's a real person.

The no kik no Skype folk are dopes

Well rather than a snide one liner having a go maybe tell me given the experience of the op who was contacted on Facebook by a creep why kik is a bad idea?

Or is it easier to just throw a bit of abuse at someone making a reasoned and logical argument?

Thats their perference, probably because they dont want to be bombarded with naked guys wanking on cam and cock pics.

It is their choice of course. On the other hand they could use the block button to discourage the cock pics.

The sensible thing is to talk to someone on fab and see if he or she interests you. If they do sd certainly before meeting then chat on kik.

My point here is the "no kik no Skype " attitude that is so prevalent.

It's pretty much impossible to conclude here that the person just couldn't be arsed installing kik or getting used to using it.

Yesterday I had someone wanting me to travel to a meet without been willing to do anything other than message on fab.

It is entirely about choice and staying safe. Perhaps if people read the thread and realise how dangerous giving out phone numbers is in the world of Google search they will reach the reasonable conclusion that someone who can't be arsed to set up something as simple as kik should not be trusted

At least I've made an argument and hopefully warned folk about the danger of giving up a phone number.

At least I tried to explain my point of view.

Rather than three one line comments having a go and inventing insults.

Its not that I cba to set up these things - I don't have them for 2 reason

1) I only use a basic phone - not even a camera on it 2) even if I had a fancy phone, I wouldn't have a clue how to use it. Nor would I be interested in knowing how to use it.

You are jumping to conclusions by saying I'm now untrustworthy

Again I said no such thing. I said that kik was far safer than giving out phone numbers. I said your Facebook account can be tracked down from your phone number. I suggested that people think about that the next time someone suggests a phone conversation. I went on to give the (very common ) experience of demanding a meet without offering any kind of background and the dangers of it. I spoke from my experience of people that I've spoken to.

YOU decided I was commenting about your situation and rather than reading what I wrote YOU decided that I was insulting YOU.

Now I've explained myself more than enough and will leave the thread back with the ops excellent warning about been careful who yo give out personal information to

Just some sort of number generating things for searches on facebook and that.

Never add my number on any site, just give it out some times to untrustworthy people who dont have kik or skype. Lol

"Well, I've just had a disturbing experience re verifications:

Would I feck do one for them

Did they already have veris?

Was just a suggestion, wasnt saying he should.

But if the person is desaperate to stalk some one on facebook then better off not.

Cant imagine why anyone would think its ok to look up and contact anyone here on facebook.

I wasn't really aiming my comment about the veri at you. I was just saying I wouldn't

I can see your point about it getting rid of them tho

"

Hi guys, thanks for the input...

Just to clarify, the abuse started within a couple of hours - sometimes it's been weeks later when I've posted/received a veri.

The person was clearly impatient and then demanding.

But the FB thing, I mean, RESPECT!

That's what this whole thing is based on...

A no means no, etc...yes?!

The experience is very disconcerting, but hopefully the person will mature up.
