Tbf its not the zoos fault, the animals are kept in enclosures for the publics safety. The fences are probably kept low for the workers to get in and out to clean and feed them. How are they to know someone would be so stupid too put a child inside them? Its the parents fault no one elses.

Dont be silly, such logic has no place in here. You must find as many people/organisations to blame as possible in order to fully meet a daily outrage requirement

Some parents do all sort of stupid things, like feeding their kids loads of fatty and sugary food and drinks, let them run wild on a shopping centre car park, buy loads of crap toys to compensate for lack of love and attention, don't strap the kids into their car seats for the quick local shopping trip etcetera

Let's blame the supermarkets for it...

"Well let's ask dublin zoo not to fence the lion's and tiger's in anymore !!!!"

Ok, lets just break this one down here.

Youve seen something in the media and its outraged you. Youre now assuming that dublin zoo hasnt had rigorous risk assessment done each year its been in its existence and that it doesnt meet required standards for zoo and wildlife parks because of this one incident youve seen while browsing the web. You now apparently think you know better about zoo management than the many many qualified people who run dublin zoo and those who set the required safety standards for zoos and wildlife parks.

Do i have this correct?

Like with all incidents, the zoo will have to review the risk assessment that allowed a low fence to be in place. I mean, don't they know that we have parents that will offer their kids as food.....

Aren't you a charmer.. because we disagree we're of limited intelligence?

I bet the zoo made him do it too. Refused him entry until he agreed to do it. It's all a conspiracy to gain advertising for the zoo I bet. Damn them and their higher intelligence..

it's entirely up to the people who run the zoo to look out for the safety of the public that should never have happened at all and remember it's the poor animal that has no say or choice that would have been shot for our stupidity.

I've not seen the video but I'd be pretty sure that a child couldn't have got themselves into the enclosure without the assistance of an adult and the adult quite frankly should know better !! Take some personal responsibility and use a bit of cop on. Do you need a fence on a railway station platform to stop you jumping in front of a train ?

People would rather stop and take a picture for facebook than stop and say that's stupid and dangerous....even if you have stuff in a zoo that's hard to get access to, there'll always be some eejit who thinks it's fun to climb in...he's lucky rhinos are pleasant enough creatures...more lucky he didn't slip though

A man lift a child over a fence in a zoo, that contains potentially dangerous wild animals and lets the child stay there for 20 minutes and you're siding against the zoo???

OK, the zoo should have reacted quicker and got some staff out there to retrieve the child but you're seriously deluded mate of you think the bulk of the blame should be placed with the zoo.

What part of putting a child in a wild animal enclosure is OK??

Anyone remember when Michael Jackson put the child over the balcony railings????

Was the hotel at fault because it's balcony railings were too low????

No...????????

The man was a musical genesis but a fucking nut! And should haven been brought up for putting his child in danger...

If I was the DPP I'd be prosecuting the father of the child for endangerment...

I used to think the same about the barriers either side of the M50 but once you've shown them how, your kids can easily climb over them & cross the motorway saving you a 15 minute drive to their friends house on the other side...

The fence was chest height. You would have to climb or be lifted overt. Also the enclosure was sunk down another 10ft or so. None of the animals were getting out. That is the zoo's responsibility. Stopping the animals from getting out into the public spaces. You can't blame the zoo because a member of the public decided to go into the animals space. To all the people saying it's the zoo's fault, under your logic the next time your house gets broken into its your fault.

Saw that pic and it didn't picticularly shock me. The rhinos were quite far away. The fellow had a hold of his child. As far as I know Rhinos haven't mastered teleportation and humid they had of moved even slightly he could have easily lifted his child. It wasn't that much of a step further than putting the child on top of the fence.

A bit of faux outrage I think

Its 100% the parents fault. That is the reason why some people should not have children. How about the wildlife reserve in Asia a couple weeks ago, where tigers attacked a couple people. They got out of their car in the middle of a tiger habitat. I guess they thought the wild tigers were nice little kitties. 2 attacked and 1 perished.

Those two complete idiots got out of their car because they were having an argument, it was only seconds before the tiger pounced. You can't accommodate for people doing stupid things. Anyone up North remember the old Lion Park ?
