All the time, don't take it personal.

Lots of genuine reasons though that someone had to cancel.....it's happened to me several times.

Stuff happens, people have more important stuff in their lives or some just get cold feet or change their mind.

It happens, so no point in getting upset by it. If it's ment to be it usually will.

At least they didnt just stand you up as others have said.

Yep, all too common, sometimes for genuine reasons, other times not. How you deal with it is up to you. I see quite a few use the status updates to vent about it, which is somewhat impolite.

My own policy on that topic is not to make a priority of anyone that treats me like an option.

That said, do bear in mind that plans can get derailed for all sorts of genuine reasons and real life will always trump Fab swinging

It's also easy to sympathise with your friends on here to...there's always two sides to every story...maybe even a third... unless we're in the others shoes it's hard to fully understand. ..what's an acceptable reason to one group isn't necessarily acceptable by others. Often we assess and accept or don't accept the validity on how much effort we have gone to make it happen too, when really it has little bearing objective bearing on it. It just makes it it far more annoying when we put in more effort.

It is becoming more common on here though to be treated as an option in the name that another might pull out. I just think we all need to understand that it can happen for many reasons. I think if you take your time in getting to know someone then they're less likely to do it without good reason....and if it happens then to say it's their loss is bullsh*t. It's actually both their loss not any particular party as so many seem to imply on here. It's supposed to be fun... so look for the silver lining as it pisses down yet again. ....

Its probably slightly common...shit happens, how many meetings in general day to day life do people cancel for this and that....i'm sure they'll still be up for meeting after they read the thread.
