Afternoon Short Stays in Hotels

Are there any hotels in Ireland, more specifically in the Midlands, that cater for afternoon stays only? I'm planning to meet a female friend for some afternoon fun and would only be staying a few hours, not needing an overnight stay. I would appreciate some help/feedback on your experiences. |

Airport hotel's do it but no airport's in the Midlands. But Midlands prices are fairly reasonable, guessing that it will nearly be the price of an overnight stay. Good luck |

Cant see why people wouldnt just book the overnight. It would draw less attention than booking it for a few hours.
If you pay for it on-line sure you can just leave and not worry about checking out.
You dont normally save that much for a daytime only as the room still has to be cleaned after you and thats a pain for housekeeping having to clean a room maybe twice in a day which you get charged a premium for.
Keep and eye on the deals sites for last minute offers or midweek offers and just book the overnight. |

They don't fascilitate early check ins though and if it's a lunchtime meet your still caught between 12 and 3 :-/ guess always depends on the hotel |

I was hoping to meet between 2 and 6pm, so it's a bit difficult to find a suitable hotel. It's also a bit of a waste holding a room for the night when nobody will be there |

2pm check in shouldnt be an issue with most hotels. Just phone them and ask before you book. If they cant do it then look at another hotel.
Most of the hotels in the midlands are crying out for the business.
I have booked hotels in the past had a play in the afternoon and gone back for another play the next morning before checkout. If you can get a late checkout on day 2 then all the better.
Its difficult to get a day only rate in non airport hotels as thats the principle reason why they do it to cater for people on a short stop over.
You used to be able to book rooms for meetings and stuff but now they usually remove the bed so that makes things more challenging.
But you can get overnights in hotels in the country for less than the day rates in the hotels in Dublin so if you can get the early check in sorted you are sorted. |
