Freezing cold facecloth or a bag of frozen peas on the back of the neck (draws the warm blood away from the eyes).
If extremely bad put your hands and feet in a basin of hot water with Vicks in and put your head between the knees. Keep the frozen peas on the back of the neck.
And drink cold water. |

Essential oils do help. There are migraine blends you can get online or use peppermint. I put it directly on my scalp and on back of neck at first sign. |

There's something doing the rounds at the mo, I have been sick the last wk and ended up going to the doc, it was the only thing that helped.
You could try massage your temples and along your eyebrows on your pressure points, usually works when it's a tension headache |

Do you know how to visualise?
Sit somewhere quiet breath deeply slowly close your eyes
Look inside your head... see the migraine... imagine it as a colour.. try red... kerp eyes closed and breathing slow and deep..
Watch the colour concentrate on it... now imagine it getting lighter through pink towards white.. see it shrink to a small fluffy cloud... watch the colour fade to white then to clear see the cloud of colour just float away from your mind... if it works for u sit relax for a while then go and drink a glass if water...
Good luck |

I've ended up in hosital twice in the last 6 months with brutal migraine's, the first of the bad boy ones blurred the vision badly in my left eye. That was after 5 days, took 12 days to go. I still think it was caused by a virus as a CT showed swelling.
Second bad one caused nosebleeds. I gotta say there is a massive difference between a bad headache and a migraine. While we all have different levels of pain tolerance if you have areal deal migraine you will beg for the pills and home remidies will in no way help. Tried them all before. If you can get your hands on imagraine they will go a long way to stopping in but it's only on prescription. Good luck Bro, unfortunately I feel your pain |

serious answer , migralieve . the one you shoot directly up your nostril to target the migraine is particularly affective , only available on perscription from your doc , if you suffer frequently , ask doc to perscribe you selenium tabs as well , one a day for the rest of yer life tho ( ive been a severe migraine sufferer for 20 yrs |

I used to get them bad as a kid, haven't had one in over 20 years (touch wood) but all that ever worked for me was sleeping in a dark room with a damp cloth across my forehead.
I don't envy you brother |

Having lived with chronic daily migraine for over thirteen years it's best seek advice from ur doc there are those that can deal with the normal migraine trough sleep in a dark room and those that are totaly diabilated by it. Diet can be a contributing factor as in dairy products sometimes trigger a migraine.
Imergrain taken immediately the migraine is felt to come on can work very well for some others hit it with a concoction of drugs and preventive drugs taken daily.
Talk to ur doc and give him some history like how many times a month u suffer what seems to work best and least, most docs will prescribe Imergrain as a first line defence and if it persists or worsens they can pass u on to the neurology depth in Beaumont where they have a good programme linked to the world's best research into migraine it's causes and defences.
Also u can check out the Irish migraine association online lots of helpfully info there
Migraine is the fourth most dibalitying illness in the world |
